The Wolf Inside

Chapter 2

Its night time. Im still in the depthnss of the forest. I stay here and find a hole in a tree trunk. I crawl inside and go to sleep ignoring the rumbling in my tummy.

I wake up at the crack of dawn and search around the forest for food. I try catching a rabbit but fail. I don't have enough energy to pounce. Giving up, I sulk next to a tree.
 
Suddenly a low growl erupts in the forest. I stand up ready to fight. Before I can see who made the growl, a midnight black wolf leaps on top of me. He pins me down. "This is our territory!" he snarls. "Im sorry, I was just looking for food. Im a rogue" I answer. A rogue is a wolf without a pack. "Liar, whats a wolf without a pack!" he hisses. "Please believe me, my parents died and even though my father was alpha, my pack hates me so for sure they will kick me out so I ran away" I tell him.

His green eyes soften and he lets me go. Two wolves appear behind him. One is a brown with green eyes and the other is gray with brown eyes. I quickly shift to human form. The three wolves get startled but also shift. "You're a shifter?" the used to be black wolf asked. I nodded. "We are too, im the fighter of my pack Chris" says the boy that was a gray wolf. He has black hair and brown eyes. "Im Shane, the alpha,  by the way" says the boy with light brown hair and green eyes that was the black wolf. "Im the beta Karla" says the red haired girl with blue eyes that was the brownish red wolf. They all look my age. 16 years old.

"Are you serious, you're a rogue?" Karla asks. I nod. "im Alice" I tell them. "Come with us, we'll get you something to eat" Shane says to me. I shake my head. I can't trust these shifters. What if they hurt me or do something bad. "Why?" Shane asks. I tell them my reason. Karla scoffs. "We are pack Blue Moon. The peace keepers, not like the Blood Moon pack or Black Claw". "I despise Black Claw. They killed my father and a lot of my pack members!" Shane growls. My eyes widen. If I tell them I'm from Black Claw they'd kill me!

"Whats wrong?" Chris questions. "Nothing, I'll go with you" I reply. Karla smiles. "Great come on!" she says. We walk to a big clearing with a large cave and a cottage. Many wolves overtake the place. It is beautiful! "Like it?" Shane asks with a smirk. "Yeah! Totally!" I say, gaping. He chuckles.

"Lets get you some food" Karla says.. She grabs my hand and drags me to the cottage. A sweet aroma fills the air. I breathe it in. Karla laughs and gets me a plate of some meat sandwhich and a glass of juice. "you can dig in" she tells me. I didn't need to be told twice. I eat quickly and neatly, not wanting to look disgusting. "Want more?" She asks. "No im good" I tell her. "Thanks a lot for the food". "No problem!" She answers.

We walk out of the cottage. "So where do you plan to go now?" Karla asks. "I honestly don't know" I respond. "Maybe... you can stay here" she says. My eyes widen. "Really!?" I say astonished. "Maybe. Its up to Shane and the other wolves. If they think you're safe then maybe you can stay" Karla says. I nod, happily. Im safe but...... are these wolves safe?
