The Wolf Inside

Chapter 3

"Hmm, I don't know" Shane answers, after Karla and I ask him about me staying. "Please Alpha Shane. Where will I go?" I say. Shane stays quiet and then finally he speaks. "I'll have to arrange a meeting with the betas and other wolves to see what they think. But not right now. You can stay for a few days until we decide". I nod and walk out of the cave with Karla.

"That went okay. Usually Shane doesn't let anyone join our pack until he's completely sure that the Shifter is safe. He's very protective over us" Karla says. "Yeah" I agree. "Hey you wanna meet meet my friends?" She asks. "Sure!" I answer. We walk to a different part of the forest. I gape when I see a small meadow with flowers and a small waterfall. It is gorgeous. "its really pretty" I tell Karla. She grins and usheres me to a group of she wolves. "Hey guys! This is Alice" She greets as they shift to human form. One is a tall blonde girl with green eyes. She looked awfully like Shane. The second is a short, dark skinned girl with dark eyes and hair pulled back. The last is a tan girl with pretty brown eyes and auburn hair set into a bun. "This is Maddy, Kristina and Abigail" . "Hi" I say shyly. "Hi" says Maddy. Kristina smiled and says "hey nice to meet you!". "Hi!" Exclaims Abigail.

Karla explains the whole story about me getting here.
"Wow thats sad to hear" Abigail says.
"Yeah" agrees Kristina.
"Well im grateful that Shane helped me for now" I tell the girls.
"Shane is a great alpha, he's always kind to everyone" says Kristina. "Especially us, since Maddy's his twin sister, but is older" Abigail adds.
"Ohh you're his twin sister?! Thats why I was wondering why you look so much like him" I gasp.
Maddy laughed.
"Yeah, that annoying guy happens to be my brother".
I smile. These girls are nothing like people from my old pack. "Oh how I wish I could stay here" I think, sadly. "Hey, you okay?" Karla asks. I nod. She senses my change in mood and gives a reassuring smile. "I'll show you where you'll be staying for the night".

We say bye to the girls and Karla shows me a cave where I will get to sleeo tonight.  It's small, only big enough for one wolf, but cozy. I sigh as I stand there in the opening of the cave.

"I don't deserve this. Why are they treating me so nicely" I say out loud to myself. "Why don't you deserve this Alice? We aren't doing this just to show we are nice or whatever. In pack Blue Moon, everyone here is family. No one is left out or uncared for" a voice says. I turn around to face him, as a tear rolls down my cheek. "Thank you. Really. I mean it. I just..... never met any kind of people like you. People who are so kind". He smiles. "I don't know exactly where you come from Alice, but it sounds like a bad place. With people with no hearts". I nod and wipe my eyes. "Sorry, I get sentimental sometimes. I hope you don't mind". He shakes his head. "Get some rest. We'll talk in the morning". Shane walks away before I could say anything.
