"Oppa. Pray sincerely." The little brown haired girl whispered, half ordered.
"I'm just going to church because the other kids do it."
"At least, try to become sincere. Say everything to God through your prayer. Everything. Your problems, insecurities, fears, joys, hopes. Anything."
"Then what will I get if I do that?"Oh. So stubborn.
She inhaled a deep breath and said patiently, "God will answer it."
…
"You dyed your hair."
A simple remark, but still, she smiled.
"You're so tall now. I can't say it earlier because you even didn't remember me. You'll think I'm a freak if I told you when we first met, again in years." She giggled.
"Why don't you tell me from the first?"
"Then you would say that I'm a woman who did a background research on you and currently after for your money."Oh, strike. He definitely gonna say that if she did it.
"But, you could explain it, right?"
"You wouldn't believe me."Double strike.
"At least say your name after you said it."
"You always think that past isn't important. That's why, you tend to forget people from your past. And your childhood is a part of your past."Turkey!
"Alright alright. You got me."
The red haired woman laughed freely. She never afraid to express the real her in front of him. Yet, there's something she had to hide from the latter.
"Still, I'm glad that you did remember me." She muttered under her breath, "So, can I draw your back, Oppa?"
She used that call again. Jumin is older than her by 2 years, so it's normal to call him oppa.
"Why?"
"I said before. I'm an artist." Yisoo rolled her eyes.
"And why should I?"
"Oh Oppa! You're so stingy!"
He chuckled lightly, "Do it as you please, Yisoo-ya."Thump.
"What's wrong?" Jumin asked as he saw her froze, not moving an inch despite his approval.
"... N-no." She stammered a bit, "No, there's nothing wrong."A smile appeared on her visage, to assure him.
"Then do it quickly, Yisoo-ya. I don't have much time." He said as he glanced at his watch.
Thump.
"O-okay. I do it real quick, don't worry."
…
( Yisoo's POV )
Why? It's not like he never called me like that before, no? He called my name casually, just the way he called me when we were kids.
Yeah, no more no less.
Then why?
Why my heart's thumping like... crazy?
Is it because no one call me like that for the past years? No, it's not, I think. Hyun also calls me like that. Then why?
Why? Why?
Don't tell me....
No.
It's not gonna happen.
.... Right?
…
They parted ways after changing their phone number. She drew him ―his back, actually― and also beside him, she drew herself, her back. They both staring at the orange colored open sea. Yisoo painted it beautifully on her white canvas. It's just a normal paintings. There are many paintings that use the similar scenery. But for her, there is only one owner of that broad back.
Jumin Han.
Ah. It really brought back her memories.
…
"What is it?"
She glanced over her shoulder and found a boy, who's a bit taller than her standing near her legs.
"Storybook. Wanna hear it? I'll read it for you."
The boy shook his head, "I'm not a stupid kid who believe in fairytale."
"Ck. Just lay down."With that, she pulled him to lay beside her at the meadow. He complied as he laid on his back.
"Listen carefully, okay?"
"Yeah, yeah. Be quick."She started to read it for him. The Little Mermaid. By the end of the story, he's already asleep.
"I don't want to be the little mermaid. Vanishing is just... painful. Please don't erase me from your memories and your life, Oppa."
And she never knew that actually he heard her whisper.
…
Sorry for the short chapter ;;;
