"I don't wanna see you ever again,"
I stormed furiously out of the camp. What a scumbag. Cheating is possibly the worst thing you could do to another person, aside from murder. So why did Jimmy, MY Jimmy, have to be a cheater? I trusted him. I believed in him. I loved him. I love him.
I wiped any tears from my face and trudged forwards, ignoring my surroundings out of pure misery. I wouldn't allow myself to cry. I was better than than, I was stronger. I pushed past thickets of brambles, scores of intertwined roots and vines daring me to stay my ground. The path was getting narrower. It soon became no path at all, just eons of patchy grass and trees heavily laden with mounds of leaves. I couldn't see where I came from. I couldn't see the sky above. I could hardly see three feet in front of me. Completely exasperated, I slumped against a tree and let a few desperate tears go. This could easily have been the worst moment of my life. But I was an optimist. I refused to let myself give up. I stood up sharply and dusted off my skirt, a new confidence instilled in me. That is, until I felt a large hand clamp over my mouth.

                                  ***
I felt a large hand clamp over my mouth. Someone grabbed me and slung me over their shoulder, carrying me off fireman's style. I kicked and screamed frantically, eventually landing the toe of my boot in the stranger's face. They howled in pain, letting me slip from their fingers and landing harshly on my chin. I whimpered softly and attempted to regain my balance. Scrambling to my feet, I swivelled around quickly to see some sort of ghoul with half a mask covering his face. The rest of it was painted chalky white with red blotches around the eyes, and  his heavyset body was clothed in a sort of white two piece complete with ruffles, multicoloured pom-poms and stained white gloves.

I started to limp off in the other direction, but boney fingers coiled around my ankle and I fell to the ground. The Ghoul panted and gave a muffled cry of frustration. He pulled me slowly towards him by my legs; I cried and screamed, clawing at the ground below. He got ahold of me once more and tossed me over the shoulder, this time tightly grasping my legs to his chest. My sobbing turned quickly to screams as I swung back and forth, quickly becoming dizzy at the hands of my kidnapper.
But suddenly, a loud rustling sounded from the nearby shrubbery. A bright light pierced my vision and I heard a familiar voice.
"Claire?" It was Jimmy.
I could barely make out his silhouette but the voice was all too recognisable. I cried in fury and beat my hands against the Ghoul, willing him to stop and turn back. The sound of running footsteps got closer and closer, until I felt something from behind grab my waist and try to wrestle me out of the grips of the Ghoul. He turned around suddenly and let me slip to the ground, staring down Jimmy. We both stepped back, me panting furiously. The Ghoul grunted eerily through the mask and pulled out a gleaming object from an unknown place. Jimmy took one look and grabbed my hand, yanking me back through another part of the woods. We ran and ran and didn't look back, no matter how close the Ghoul sounded, no matter how many times I heard the slashing of that gleaming blade through vines, no matter how terrified I was. I focused on Jimmy, and tried to follow him as best I could. He kept his hand firmly linked with mine until we were back in the moonlight. Back to the camp. Finally safe.
I collapsed into Jimmy's arms. He kissed my forehead and carried me bridal style back to my trailer. Once there, he laid me down on the bed and brushed any loose strands of hair out of my face.
"You ok?"
I nodded and dabbed at my sticky cheeks. I sat up straight and tried to catch my breath. He sat down beside me and put his hand on my knee comfortingly. I rested my head on his shoulder and took a deep breath.
"I'm so sorry for today. I really do love you Claire, I don't know why I did it,"
"Let's talk about this tomorrow. I love you, Jimmy."
And with that, I shut my eyes and fell asleep listening to his heartbeat.

A/N. finally finished this 😅. Thank you so much to @eyoricka and @Rosegxx123 for helping me think of an ending I was honestly stuck. I tried to use both ideas but couldn't figure out how, so I chose the more actiony one because I like action. Thank you so much to both of you! Couldn't have done it without you.
