Chapter 11 - Yes or No

James just asked me to the Yule Ball! Is that even possible? Calm down, Lily Evans. Clam down. What will be my answer? Yes or No? I am a champion and I must have a date! Who? Can champions date champions? I don't know. Now my head is exploding.

"Anne! Anne!" I called to Anne, my best friend from Gryffindor. "James just asked me to go to the ball with him," I said, trying to be calm.
"Really? How did he say it?" Anne asked, getting excited.
"Willyahgototheballwime? he said. And he gave me 1 day to think of it, should I say Yes or No?" I asked her.
"Yes! Snape broke up with you right?" she asked.
"Yea, it was actually me who did that," I said, "you mean I should say Yes?"
"Yup!" she said.
"First lets list the pros and cons," I said, "By the way, who are you dating?"
"Frank Longbottom," said Anne.

I made a list on a piece of paper saying:
pros:
I don't have to waste time finding a date.
I'll have a friend, because Snape is angry at me.
James' might not insult me and Snape anymore.
cons:
Snape will be angrier.

I showed the list to Anne and she said, "Wow! You should w
say yes! There are more pros than cons."
"Okay. We've got the answer," I said.

In the evening, I ran to see James.
"James! James!" I shouted.
"What?" he asked.
"Yes."

A big smile flashed across his face, not an evil smile, pure happiness. He held his hands out and wrapped them around me. Several Slytherins, walking by were sniggering.

"Potter and Evans, together?" said a Slytherin boy.
"Yea. Amazing right?" said another girl, being sarcastic.
And they walked away, laughing.

"What will you wear?" he asked.
"I don't know. I don't have a dress yet," I said, "What about you?"
"My dad is sending me his favorite dress robes," he said, "see you tomorrow!" and he walked away.

The next morning, I woke up to see a big box at the end of my bed.
