Chapter 4

Tay's P.O.V.

Son of a bitch. Son of a fucking bitch. Why me? Why the hell are you picking on me?

I stood outside of All Time Dry- Cleaning. Mother. Fucker. I slowly opened the door and debated turning around immediately because Alex was working at the register and he seemed to be the only one who was there.

"Hey," he said, smiling when he saw me. "Tay, right?"

Oh God, he knows my name. TURN AROUND NOW WHILE YOU STILL CAN.

"Yeah," I managed to say.

"You here for Chad Gilbert's suit?"

I nodded, not really trusting my speech. He was so fucking hot, my God. Alex smiled again and I practically melted. My eyes rolled to the back of my head when he turned away from me to go get the suit.

Fuck, Tay. Breathe.

I took a deep breath and when Alex came back with the suit, I somehow managed to stay calm.

"Can I ask you something?" Alex asked.

I swallowed. "Yeah... sure..."

"Do you wanna go out some time?"

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck ;ljk;jlkojinbouiiguvoivyi]y. Taylor Kathleen Jardine, breathe, calm down... calm down... take deep breaths...

"Are you okay?" Alex asked.

I hadn't even realized that I was struggling to hold myself up.

"Do you need-"

"I'd love to go out some time."

"Really? That's great..."

I rummaged in my bag for a piece of paper and a pen and wrote my number out, handing it to him. "Call me. We can arrange a day. I don't have time right now" - because I'm too busy trying to stay alive- "because I have to get back to work. Talk to you later."

I turned away and took a deep breath, walking out of the dry-cleaners. I got into my car and sat there, not starting the car.

Oh, my God, I have a date. With Alex. I started doing a little dance and then there was a knock on the window of my car. I nearly jumped out of my skin and it didn't help that Alex was standing there with that fucking adorable ass smile.

I rolled the window down and Alex held up Chad's suit, making me feel instantly like an idiot. "Looks like you forgot the very thing you came here for," Alex said, laughing.

My face turned bright red and I grabbed the suit, hanging it up in the backseat. "Th-thanks..."

"It's cute when you blush." Alex was still smiling, but he stopped as if he had just realized what he said, and his face turned red as well.

"You too," I said, my face going back to normal. I rolled my window back up and turned my car on, pulling out of the parking lot, watching Alex watch me, that smile returning to his face.

When I got back to the office, Matty was sitting behind his desk and I stopped by him.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey," he replied, moving closer. "What do ya need?"

"Is Hayley here?"

"She just left for her lunch break with Chad. Anything I can do?"

I held up Chad's suit. "Give this to her when they get back?"

"Of course."

"Thanks Matty."

"No problem."

Hayley's P.O.V.

I made Jeremy keep a close watch on Andrew Biersack and Ashley Purdy, wanting really desperately to fire them. Their fight had set sales back a little because the entire office had been enveloped in a state of disarray for a few hours.

Now Chad and I were sitting in a booth at some restaurant for my lunch break. He seemed excited about it, so I couldn't bring myself to tell him no. Besides, who could deny barbecue? I'm from Tennessee and I will not deny my barbecue.

"The ribs here are amazing," Chad said, smiling as he pulled off his jacket. His smile was so cute. Chad was my only weakness and the only thing that relieved the stress of the office.

"What are you smiling at?" Chad asked.

I blushed, not realizing that I had been smiling at him. "Nothing," I defended. "You're just so cute..."

Chad rolled his eyes and picked up the menu, so I did the same. We ordered our drinks.

"What do you recommend?" I asked Chad.

"Everything. Hm... This." Chad pointed to something on the menu with a strange name and I nodded. "It's really good."

"Alright. I'm a little overdressed for barbecue, hm?"

"I think you're perfect."

I shook my head and the waiter came by, took our orders and left.

"Do you wanna do something later?" Chad asked. "After work and everything."

"Yeah," I said. Honestly, I was planning on catching up with some work and I had a meeting with Gwen Stefani tomorrow to get ready for, but once again, I couldn't say no to Chad.

"Awesome, ba-" Our plates were set down in front of us.

"Can I get you anything else?" the waiter asked in a bored voice.

"This is fine," Chad said.

"Thank you," I said. The waiter rolled his eyes and walked away.

"Well he was rude," Chad said.

"Maybe he's on his period." Chad and I laughed.

Matty's P.O.V.

"Brittany!" I called after the dark-haired girl.

Brittany turned around. "Oh, hey, Matty."

"You haven't talked to me since Friday..."

"I know... And I'm sorry, I just have had some stuff going on."

"Right, the ex-boyfriend stuff... Don't you ever just take a break from that? What about it is so important that I can't take you out to get your mind off it?"

Brittany stared at me and I saw something in her eyes change.

"I didn't mean to be harsh," I apologized quickly.

"No, you weren't," Brittany said with a beautiful smile. "Why don't we arrange something tonight?"

I had to try my best not to jump up and down with happiness. "Totally," I said coolly. "That's cool...."

Brittany smiled again. "Just call me."

She walked away from me and I stared after her.
