INT.Scotty's Gym-Noon
Steph, Shaine, Eve, Naomi, and Laura are all practicing kickboxing with Danny and Scotty. They're either hitting punching bags, or jump-roping.
SHAINE
I honestly can't believe that my little threat to Ben worked.
SHAINE HITS THE PUNCHING BAG.
EVE
He better "watch his ass". (laughs) Iconic.
STEPH
I love how you showed him that you weren't scared because now they have nothing to threaten you with.
SHAINE
The ball is in my field now. Now we just have to figure out how to bury the hatchet once and for all.
NAOMI
Daltons gonna learn not to fuck with us.
EVE
Hey, when's the last time you spoken to Jake?
EVERYONE PAUSES WHAT THEIR DOING AND STARES AT SHAINE.
SHAINE
Gosh..I don't know...It's been so long.
EVE
Do you miss him?
SHAINE
(Scoffs.) No..Jake's old news.
Everyone goes back to exercising.
SHAINE sits down against the wall and takes a breather. It becomes evident that she's now thinking about Jake.
INT.Steph's Apartment-Evening
Steph is brewing coffee while Shaine is sitting on the couch with a concerned look on her face.
STEPH
Okay Spill..(walks over to the couch and sits down next to Shaine.)
SHAINE
What are you talking about?
STEPH
You've had that same look on your face ever since Eve brought up Jake at practice. You miss him.
SHAINE
I do not.
STEPH
I'm your best friend and can tell when you're lying. It's okay to miss him Shaine. It's been a long while since you last seen him.
SHAINE
I feel bad because I left him in such a fragile state for Lucky...Ew..Of all people.
STEPH
(Hands Shaine her phone.) Screw it. Call him.
SHAINE
Oh no..I am not doing that. You're supposed to let the dead rest in peace not dig them back up.
STEPH
But there's a difference..Jake's alive and you're not digging up anyone, you're..rekindling an old flame. So..Call him. (Says in a sing song voice.) I know you want to.
SHAINE
No, better yet I'm going to talk to him face to face.
STEPH
Wait all I said was to talk to him. That'll open up old wounds if you see his face. Don't do that.
SHAINE
Too late..Already messaged him to meet me at the coffee shop. (Gets up and puts on shoes.)
STEPH
(Groans.) Shaine just be aware of what you're about to do.
INT.COFFEE SHOP-EVENING
Shaine is sitting down drinking a cappuccino when Jake walks in. Smirking once he sees Shaine.
Shaine half smiles at him and Jake waltzes over to Shaine's table and sits across from her
SHAINE
Hey Jake.
JAKE
Shaine. What's up?
SHAINE
Nothing just wanted to catch up. How have you been?
