Before stepping out into the incredibly chilly atmosphere I tugged a hoodie over my head and added a hat to keep warm. I  pulled on my Ugg boots that I stole and grabbed my old tattered Jansport backpack that I actually bought and slung it over my shoulder. i checked over my outfit  in the only mirror I had, which was filthy and cracked all over. I finally opened the door to my temporary home, hearing it creak for about the millionth time. The cool breeze whipped at my face as I made my way through the woods, on my way to the library. Today I plan on telling Ms. Rolland I'l' be leaving either tonight or tomorrow morning. She doesn't know I'm homeless she just thinks I have a poor family, due to the limited supply of clothing I have.

I hear the leaves crunching underneath my feet indicating it's actually fall time and I don't disagree this weather is hellish. The trailer home produces some warmth but not very much. I finally stepped onto the concrete sidewalk and get some strange looks from the people sitting on benches enjoying their lunches. Lucky bastards get to eat whenever they please I think to myself. I force myself to smile at everyone and then walk away quickly to get to the library.

I hear the familiar sound of bells jingling as I open the door to the library. The musty smell of old books fills my nose. I've learned to love that smell over time. Ms. Rolland is occupied with paperwork at the time, meaning we can't have a conversation like normal. She looks up at me and smiles at me to make up for the lack of communication. I return the smile and make my way to the isle where the book I was currently reading was shoved on the shelf. I pulled it out of its spot then sat down on the floor, my back resting against the shelf behind me. I open the book and remove the make-shift bookmark on page 254 out of 535. I start to read and become engulfed in the book reading each word.

"Excuse me" I hear a voice in my head say. I scrunch my nose and continue reading my book. You must be going crazy Jess I tell myself. "Excuse me" The voice says a little louder. I finally realize it's an actual person wanting my attention.

"Yes?" I ask not bothering to look up from my book.

"I'm looking for a book and I think you're sitting in front of it" They tell me. I look up and my eyes meet those of a gorgeous boy about my age. I frantically get up from my spot letting him gain access to the spot he needed to get. He's kind of intimidating because of his tattoos but I patiently wait for him to finish up. (Picture on the side)

"What are you looking at" he snaps at me. I hadn't realized I was staring until now.

"Nothing, I'm sorry" I look at the floor quickly. He plucks a book from the shelf and walks away from me. I huff and take back my position from earlier. I try to start reading again but i can't bring myself to it. I place my bookmark in the divot between the two pages and shut my book. I check the clock hanging slightly side ways on the wall. It reads 8:15 the library will be closing in 15 minutes so I better wrap up. I place my book back on the shelf but put it in a different spot so no one can memorize where it was the day before and try to check it out.

I don't check out the books because I'll most likely loose it or have it past it's die date and I won't have the money to pay for it. So  instead I just come here everyday or so to read. I walk back up to the front desk and see that Ms.Rolland is taking a break form the paper work scterring all around her desk.

"Hello Jess" She huffs as I rest my elbows on the desk.

"What's wrong" I ask, furrowing my brow at the frustrated Ms. Rolland sitting in front of me.

"Just this paper work is tiring" She manages a smile.

"Sounds like fun" I sarcastically say. She laughs at my playfulness and returns to do her paperwork. "I have to tell you something" I blurt out before I can stop myself.

"What is it dear" She looks up once more, her eyes full of concern.

"My family and I are moving tomorrow morning" I say, barely able to tell her.

"So soon?" she asks, clearly saddened by my somewhat fake news.

"Yeah," I sigh,"But I'll stop by tomorrow before we leave and I'll say one last goodbye"

"That sounds like a deal" she nods her head,"I'll miss you, you know?"

"I thought you would" I  mumble to myself. "Well, I better get going, don't wanna upset mom" I speak up this time heading for the door. Ms. Rolland says goodbye as I open the door. Once again the cols air hits me in the face as I step outside. I pass all the shops avoiding eye contact with the small bakery I pass every time I go to the library. I find the spot I memorized to go in an out of the woods and step onto the mini trail.

I open the door to the trailer and set my backpack down. I go to the small cabinet and  pull out the water bottle I've been saving. It's a little less than half way full but I open the cap and take I small sip. I place it back into it's spot and go to the old crappy bed and lay down. Pulling the insanely small and tattered blanket over my body was harder than I thought it would be. I finally settle into sleep and await for the long day ahead of me
