I woke up to the sound of rain against the top of the old trailer I've called home for about 3 months. I rolled out of bed and threw the same sweatshirt back on my body before gathering all of my things and leaving. Just like that. Bye bye old trailer. I started into the woods going onto the little trail that had formed from me walking on it almost everyday.

As I stepped out of the woods and jumped off a little stone wall with people sitting around drinking coffee. Judging by all the people I'm guessing it's around lunch time. I earned some glares and strange looks as I walked past everyone on my way to the library for the last time today. I passed a bakery and couldn't help but stop at the window and look inside. I looked at all the people scarfing down cookies, brownies, and other pastries. I shook my head and kept walking despite the tugging in my stomach that was telling me to go back and steal something. I told myself no because it was my last day and I don't want to cause trouble.

I pushed the door open and stepped inside the musty library. Breathing in the smell, I walked over to Ms. Rolland's desk and rested my elbows on it. She was currently on the phone with god knows who. I looked around for a while waiting for her to finish up. I never really noticed how messy Ms. Rolland's desk was until now. Stacks of papers scattered on her desk, cups of coffee that were mostly empty laying around. I'm definitely not going to judge because back when I had my own room it was just as messy.

"Hey Jessalynn" Ms.Rolland sighed but still gave a warm smile.

"Hello," I started,"I just wanted to stop buy and kill time before I leave"

"I can't believe you're leaving so soon" she shook her head.

        "I know it's stupid" I said.

"Well help yourself like always" She told me while sorting through one of the many stacks of papers on her desk. I spun on my heel and walked over to a part of the library I haven't really spent much time in before. I looked around searching for a book to read, preferably a 200-300 page book. A book with a bright blue cover caught my eye, causing me to pick it up and read the back. I decided to read it, it sounded like a great book. I flipped back to the front and read the title, 'The Fault in Our Stars' I opened up to the first page and started to read.

I shut the book and placed it back on the shelf kind of sad that I finished it so soon. One of the quotes stuck out the most to me and I went something like: I don't know a perfect person, only flawed people who are still worth loving. I was truly a beautiful quote and I just had to remember it. I walked up to Ms.Rolland's desk yet again to find her not there. I took a Sharpie, from the coffee mug she used as a pencil holder, and  wrote the quote on my arm. I set the Sharpie back in the mug and turned to try find Ms.Rolland. I turned the corner seeing her placing books back on the shelves. I walked over beside her and started to help her out. I found all the right spots for the books in the area then rested against the shelf for support.

"Well thanks for helping" Ms. Rolland said.

"It was no problem" I insisted. Just then I heard the distinctive jingle of the front door. I peered in between the books to see the same guy from yesterday. I turned back around and Ms. Rolland had disappeared yet again. I laughed to myself and headed out to her desk hoping to find her there. No luck. I had to get going soon so I left a little note on her desk.

        Ms. Rolland,

Thank you so much for everything you have done for me the past 3 months or so. You've done more than you know. I wish I could stay but things are very complicated right now. I hope it gets better and when it does I'll make sure to come back and tell you all about it :). Well I better get going. Keep the library safe for me and do me a favor? Save that book 'The Fault in Our Stars' So if I do come back then I can read it again. I really enjoyed it. Well I guess this is goodbye Ms. Rolland. Thank you again. You are one of my bestfriends that I have. Well my only friend really. Hope to see you soon.
