Elizabeth's POV
I could tell he wasn't okay but I didn't have the slightest clue on what to do. Comforting him wasn't working and I hadn't had much experience with this stuff. He had started crying by now and I sat down next to him and hugged him tightly. His crying had slowed the slightest bit at my touch but it still couldn't help what had happened.
"Nick?" I asked. "Are you okay now?" He had stopped crying and sat up. He was staring at the tv which was off. He didn't reply.
"Nick?" I asked once more "NICK!" No matter what I did he wouldn't respond. I tried pulling him, pushing him, yelling at him, prompting him, and even waving my hands in front of him. He was completely spaced out and wouldn't respond to anything.
After waiting almost five minutes he looked away from the tv. His eyes fell upon me and he opened his mouth to speak.
"E-Elizabeth." He said slowly. "Promise me we will kill everything that was involved in the attack." I snapped my attention back to him and just looked at him oddly.
"I-I promise." I said after I finally caught up to what he was saying.
"Good. Let's start with making the last few rogues in to telling us who attacked us and why." He said. The way he said making gave me an uneasy feeling in my stomach.
"Okay." I replied slowly.
"Follow me." He said leading me through a passage that lead to a few cages. I saw one of the rogues from earlier in the furthest one and we walked up to it. As we neared the wolf growled and bared its teeth.
"Shift." Nick said growling back. As the wolf shifted back to human form Nick stopped growling.
"Who's behind this attack?" Nick questioned.
"Why should I tell you?" The rogue snapped back.
"This is why." Nick said holding up a long stick with a sharp object at the end of it. Silver. That's wha it it was. As the rogue looked at it he backed up.
"Dra-Draconis." The rogue said. "Draconis the witch." Didn't we already have enough to deal with?! Now more witches! Ours this get any worse!
"But why!"
"Because... she wants Elizabeth. She wants to take her powers because she's not a true werewolf. She wasn't born into it or changed to one in any regular way. Her abilities are magical. That's why." The rogue spat. I was surprised at the rogues words. The witch wanted me?!
This wasn't making any sense! Well... it was but why?! Because she wants powers. This is so stupid!
"Who else is associated and what are their plans?" Nick growled.
"I swear... that's all I know!" The rogue pleaded. "We were sent here by our boss. We don't even know his name. Most of us haven't even seen him!"
"I NEED ANSWERS!" Nick growled furiously.
"The-the name Thane." The rogue quivered. "He-he's the one that sent us. He's second in command."
"Good. Now is that all?" Nick asked less furious.
"Ye-yes." The rogue stammered. "Wai-wait. Their is one other thing. The-" but before he could finish speaking he fell the the ground silently. I looked up and saw a silhouette of a person.
"Look!" I yelled as the person dove out of view. "After him!" Nick charged and I ran as fast as I could but couldn't manage to keep up. As I slowed, I saw something catch my eye. It was a trap.
"Nick! It's a trap!" I yell after him but it's to late. He was out of vision and I was left in the forest... alone. I had lost my sense of direction and had no idea of where I might be. I tried to think back to where I had come from but couldn't retrace my footsteps.
I spun around hoping for just a little sign of where I might be. Just as I think I might ha an idea a branch snaps and catches my attention diverting my thoughts away from getting back.
"Who's there." I say into the open. I wait a few moments and after no reply I decide it was just a fat squirrel or another animal. I divert my attention back to finding my way back and just as I do I hear footsteps charging after me. I turned around and screamed at what I saw.
"Don't be scared little girl." The rogue said. I turned around and ran as fast as I could.
"Help!" I yelled as I ran faster and faster. Suddenly I felt my feet leave the ground and I found myself flying through the air.
"OW!" I screeched as I hit the ground scraping my arms and hitting my right leg on a rock. I tried to stand up but just fell back down a sharp pain ran through my leg, causing me to wince in pain.
"Come here girl." The rogue said.
"Get away!" I scream as the rogue walks slowly towards me. I try once more to stand up, my leg railing me once more.
"Help!" I scream, but nothing replies. The rogue towers above me and reaches down. He lifts me up with such force it's as if a god had thrown me in the air. He threw me into a tree and my vision faded. Tears formed in my eyes. I wasn't ready for this. I wasn't old enough for this.
"Someone help me!" I cry out as my vision darkens into a deeper shade of color. "Help!" The rogue walks over and opens his mouth to speak.
"Don't cry little girl." He says which just makes the crying get worse.
"Help... Me!" I yell one last time before he picks me up and throws me again. My vision this time completely blackens and reality itself deceases. I hear voices but they don't seem right. Everything feels cold and echoey.
"I told you to bring her here unharmed!" "You almost killed her!"
"But Draconis! She wouldn't stop yelling. And then she started crying."
"SHE'S ONLY THIRTEEN! WHAT DID YOU EXPECT!"
The voices stopped and I felt the world get colder and even more distant from reality. That's when I completely lost conciseness and blacked out.
