"Why are you so stubborn, Dominic?!" Samantha yelled. The blank look on my face never left. "Because I don't care," I replied.
My sister shut her mouth and turned around towards the door. She pulled it open and walked out. "Sometimes you should learn to love! You won't find anyone if you have a cold heart!" she yelled through the door.
I got up and slammed the door in her face. She heard her groan in annoyance and anger, but her stomping footsteps got farther and farther. I looked out the window, but something-- someone else caught my attention.
Eliza.
She watched Samantha stomp back to her house in confusion, but got in her car a second later. I heard her start her engine and I immediately grabbed my keys and followed her.

She parked on mall parking lot and I parked about five spaces away from her.
Eliza headed towards the entrance and I quickly, but quietly followed her. She walked into a small shop and looked around. Eliza stopped at a brightly colored shirt and admired it for a minute. I walked up behind her and my breath fanned on her neck. I felt her tense up and I exhaled.
"I like that shirt too," I said. She turned around and couldn't balance herself because of the tiny space between us. She leaned forward and placed her hands on my shoulders, my hands on her waist.
She gasped softly and her cheeks blushed a light pink. Evelyn's eyes widened and she slowly pried her hands off me. "Sorry if I scared you," I said. She shook her head. "Oh, not at all. You're fine."
She placed the shirt back on the rack. "How did you know I was here?" she asked. I shrugged. "I was roaming through here and I saw you too."
Lies. Lies. Lies.
She nodded. "Oh, okay. Since we're together, do you want to hang out for the rest of the day?"
Yes.
I smirked. "Of course."

Dominic easily walked behind me and didn't complain about which store I went to. I stopped at Sephora's and he patiently waited for me.
We finally ended up at the food court and I turned around to face him. "Is there anywhere you would like to shop at for yourself before we eat?" Dominic shook his head. "I'm fine. You go find someplace to sit and I'll be back with some food."
I smiled kindly at him and nodded, but inside I was excited. There was something about him that I couldn't figure out. Maybe it's how good looking he is. Or maybe it's something that I wasn't supposed to know.
I erased my thoughts and found a table for two next to the window in a corner. I sat down and gazed out of the window. We were on the second floor so I could see the freeway, a lot of cars, and people.
I took out my phone when it dinged.

It's going good. I'm still looking into jobs but so far so good. I'm at the mall so I'll check in with you later. Love you.

I smiled. She was adorable. She was always the one who would bring a smile to everyone's faces. Maybe I inherited my perkiness from her.
Just as I was about to check my social media, a bag was placed in front of me. I looked up and saw Dominic looking down at me. He smiled and gestured at the bag. I immediately smelled the delicious food and grinned at him.
"You are my new favorite friend," I stated while still grinning. Dominic kept the smile on his face. He sat down on the chair across from me. "I'll keep that in mind."
He opened the bag and boxes and we dug right in.
Once I was stuffed, I leaned back in my chair and sighed. "I'm so full." He was staring at me, but his eyes dropped down to my lips. My heart raced as he leaned in.
What's he doing?
He stopped at looked me in the eye. Some emotion filled those eyes and I couldn't read it. His eyes focused back to my lips and just when I was about to turn, he wiped the corner with a napkin.
"You have a little bit of sauce," he said. Oh, boy. I was probably so red. It was embarrassing. I broke eye contact and nodded. "Thanks," I replied, trying to hide my embarrassment.
I saw him tilt his head out of the corner of my eye as if he was studying me. I looked up and he smiled. "You okay?"
I chuckled shyly. "Yeah." Dominic smiled. "I think we should be heading home now. We do live right next to each other," I said with a laugh.
"Yeah. Got everything?" I nodded and grinned. "Race you to the car?" He challenged.
"Get ready to eat dust," I replied.
