I smiled at the some boys walking past me and continued with my workout. When I get back home my dance instructor is going to beat me for not staying in good shape. I dropped from my planking position and switched to lay on my back, it was really hot out today and because we have to go rehearse for the concert at 2pm I decided to wake up early and jog to the beach. Some fresh air and alone time can do me good, we only have a couple months left on this tour and then we are let go. I thought about what I am going to miss for the first few months of my senior year, I sat up and decided to walk down the boardwalk. I grabbed my backpack and smiled as I smelled the greasy food and heard music. I was looking into the windows and saw several things, cute dresses, a bookstore, a cute gift shop, and a surf shop. I was about to head back when I saw an old man make eye contact with me. I smiled and he grabbed my hand.
"My you are a beautiful young lady."
"Why thank you!" I smiled, he pulled me into his shop and walked behind the counter. I looked around and noticed several ukuleles, all different in design.
"Here, this is perfect for you." He set down a white ukulele with waves on it. I picked it up and realized how much I missed playing.
"How much?" He shook his head.
"But I have money-" He walked around the counter and pushed me out of the door and shut it. I turned around and tried opening it but it was locked.
"Thank you so much!" I yelled, hoping he would hear me through the door. I looked at the ukulele in my hand and sighed. I haven't held one in awhile, since I was twelve at least. I started strumming and made my way back down the boardwalk.
"Haddi, do you like being on tour?" I nodded and laughed as I signed another girls arm.
"Of course, what's not to love!" As I kept signing things it became quiet.
"Are you okay Haddi?" I looked up and made eye contact with a girl who looked my age.
"Yes, why wouldn't I be?"
"Well, you have been getting tinier and tinier over the tour and with the whole hospital thing... we the fans are worried." I froze, looking around at them I did what I do best. I smiled at them and nodded.
"I am okay guys! No need to worry, promise!" I looked at my phone and saw it was time to head back or I would be late. "But I have to go, or Marcy will kill me!" I squeezed my way out of the crowd and started running back to the hotel. When I was a block away I slowed down to a walk and smiled, I have 10 minutes I am good. I heard a whistle and turned my head to see the group of guys I saw earlier on the beach behind me.
"Where are you from lil mama?" I looked behind me and back at them.
"Me? Um America." I said confused, they stopped just a few feet from me and I smiled. "I have to go though or-"
"I didn't know America produced such fine women." The tallest one in the group said, he was obviously the alpha male of the pack of friends.
"I mean I guess if-"
"Well cutie, my names Vincent; thought you should know the name you'll be screaming later tonight." He smirked and my eyes widened.
"Excuse me?" I said, astounded at what he actually just said.
"You heard me, you staying at this hotel?" He pointed up the street and I just looked at him, like hell I'll tell him where I'm staying.
"Look I really have to go-"
