Yumi's POV
After eighth period, I looked for Kai, but I didn't know where to find him. Sighing, I gave up and started walking home. I would have to get my book another day.
After walking only a couple blocks, a car honked at me repeatedly. I whipped my head around to see Kai in a shiny black car. I stopped walking and waited for him to stop his car.
"You didn't wait for me," he said and frowned.
"Sorry. I couldn't find you," I said.
"Well get in babe," he said.
"Don't call me babe," I gave him the death glare and opened the car door.
"How close is the dance studio? You said it wasn't far right?" I asked Kai who was driving.
"Yeah we'll be there in ten minutes or so," he responded without taking his eyes off the road.
"Okay," I said and gazed aimlessly out the window.
Without knowing it, I drifted to sleep. I always slept during car rides. I could never be in a car and stay awake. This is why I don't ride the bus.
"Yumi," I heard someone calling me.
"Hmm," I stirred and closed my eyes tighter.
"Yumi, we're here," the voice said again.
I didn't respond, and I heard Kai get out of the car. I felt my door open, which I had been leaning on so I almost fell out the car. I screamed, but Kai caught me, and surprisingly lifted me up, carrying me bridal style.
"Wh-what are you doing?" I asked him.
"Sh sh. This is one of the moments I was saying that we were gonna have. Just embrace it," he whispered and leaned his head to the side.
"I- I can walk by myself," I stuttered.
"Well sure you can, but I'd rather carry you," he said.
"No... I'm too heavy for all that. I'm surprised you can even lift me," I said and tried to get out of his grasp.
"Oh please, you are definitely not heavy. And stop squirming, it's making it hard to enjoy the moment," he said.
"I don't want to enjoy the moment," I said and tried to get down.
"You asked for it then," he said and flung me over his right shoulder.
"Ahhh! Kai! Put me down! What are you doing?" I panicked as I looked at the world upside down.
"Relax, and you didn't want to enjoy the moment, so I changed it," he laughed and walked towards the entrance.
"Help! He's kidnapping me!" I shouted, playfully.
"Nobody can hear you!" Kai said and flung the door open quickly.
He was laughing and so was I as he ran down the hall and into another room.
He slowly put me down and stared at me, "You have the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. Why is it that you don't smile often?" He asked me seriously.
"I-," I stopped smiling and looked down. "I don't really have a reason to smile. To be honest, this is probably the most I've smiled since middle school," I admitted to him.
"Hey, don't be shy," he said and tilted my chin up with his hand. "And we need to keep hanging out so that you can always wear that perfect smile on your face."
I smiled slightly, and then my face started to tint pink. I quickly moved his hand away and turned around.
"Was that a blush I saw?" Kai asked teasingly.
