Yumi's POV:
"Get out!" My mom pushed me out the door.
I stumbled a little, but regained myself quickly. I could see Kai driving off, he didn't see me though. I thought about calling him, but decided not to and just laid on the grass in the front yard.
The grass was slightly damp with cold dew, but it didn't bother me that much. It wasn't the first time I had to sleep outside.
I laid on my back and watched the sky. It wasn't completely dark out, but it was getting there. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see a star pop up. I turned my attention towards the bright star.
"Star light
Star bright
The first star I see tonight
I wish I may
I wish I might
Have this wish that I wish tonight."I closed my eyes and made a wish. Maybe just once, my wish would come true. My grandmother and I used to wait for the first star every night to wish upon it with this poem.
Tears started to brim the corners of my eyes as I thought more and more about her. She was a great person. So loving, so caring.... I'm not sure what happened to my mom. She definitely didn't learn to not show affection from my grandma. I went to sleep that night thinking about the memories of my grandma.
"Yumi! Yumi!" I woke up from someone calling my name.
My eyes fluttered open and the sun started to sting my eyes. I quickly shut them and covered my face with my arm.
"Yumi why are you sleeping outside?" The same voice that woke me up asked.
"Hmm?" I turned over so I was laying on my stomach to see who was talking to me. The voice didn't sound familiar.
"Who are you?" I asked. I stood up slowly and looked up to see if I recognized the person standing in front of me.
I saw someone who was short, but still a giant when standing next to me. It didn't hurt my neck as much to look up as what it did with Kai. He had short, black hair. His eyes were round and he had full lips. I think I had seen him around school.
"Sorry, my name is Kyungsoo," he said and cleared his throat. "We actually have chemistry together... I sit next to you."
"Oh... why are you here?" I asked, still half asleep.
"Well I was walking to school like usual and I saw you laying in this wet grass. You could get sick of you lay in it too long," Kyungsoo said.
"Yeah well tell that to my parents," I replied shortly.
"What do you mean?" He asked with concern in his eyes.
"They kicked me out for the night. They know I don't have friends to go to, so I'm not sure where they expected me to go..." I trailed off.
"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that. Do you need to shower or anything since you can't go in your house? You can come to my house for a little if you want..." he was cut off.
"Umm actually she's coming to my house," someone said.
I turned to look at who said it. It wasn't Kai, but it was one of his friends that sat at my lunch table.
"Baekhyun? What are you doing here?" I asked him.
"Kai is sick today. He told me to come pick you up and take you to school," he said with a straight face. "So let's go to my house first and get you ready."
