Yumi's POV
Kai leaned towards me. My heart starts to beat rapidly and he whispers, "FYI I get nervous around you too."
I look at him, not knowing what to say. We stared at each, neither of us speaking. It wasn't an awkward silence though. It was comfortable, it felt right.
"We should get going," I said quickly, averting my gaze.
"Yeah. Let's go," Kai said and grabbed my left hand.
I grabbed my bag and we walked down the stairs and out to the car, hand in hand. My hand was probably sweating a lot, but he didn't seem to mind or notice.
We reached his car and he opened the passenger seat for me. I quickly got in and he gently closed the door. After he got in the car, we were off.
We stopped in front of a breakfast place and went inside. We walked hand in hand as we did this.
After ordering, we talked. "This is fun," Kai said.
"Yeah. Nobody's ever shown up at my house unexpectedly in the morning just to take me to breakfast before school," I said and smiled.
"And I've never shown up at someone's house unexpectedly in the morning just to take them to breakfast before school," he said, not breaking eye contact.
Was he trying to trick me? Make me think I'm special? I thought to myself, trying to see through what he was saying to me.
"Uh Yumi," he said snapping in front of my face.
"Huh? Yeah?" I said gaining back my thought.
"You were just kinda creepily staring at me for a couple minutes," he said.
"Oh... I uh sorry," I said and looked down. I could feel he heat rising to my face. "I was just thinking," I mumbled.
"Thinking about me right," Kai teased and gave his famous smirk.
"No!" I quickly denied, turning a deeper shade of red.
"You were probably thinking about me shirtless since you're blushing so hard," continued teasing me.
"I.. was just thinking," I said quietly.
After eating, Kai paid and we went to school.
"Yumi..." Kai said when we got out of the car and were in front of the school.
"Yeah?"
"Umm. Could I hold your hand again?" He asked innocently.
"I don't want to give people at school the wrong idea..." I started to say.
"Well close friends hold hands. And we are friends, so it would just be an act of friendship," he said quickly.
I looked into his puppy eyes and sighed, "Fineee."
"Hehe yay," Kai giggled like a school girl and quickly interlaced our fingers.
"Ahh you're so childish Jongin," I teased and pinched his cheek. His face turned slightly pink with embarrassment.
We walked through the doors and many people stared at us. After all, I was known as the loner girl who didn't talk to anyone and Kai was known as the most handsome guy in the school.
I wasn't used to having this kind of attention. It made me uncomfortable having people stare at me like that, so I climbed onto Kai arm and walked slightly behind him to hide from everyone.
He quickly pulled me into a random classroom, "Are you okay?" Concern filled his eyes.
"Yeah," I said.
"Why did you suddenly cling onto my arm and bury your head then?" He asked. I hadn't realized I buried my head into him.
"I'm sorry... I'm not used to having people stare at me like how everyone was," I admitted. "I got scared and uncomfortable."
"Awe it's okay. You'll get used to it," he said and pulled me into a hug.
I hugged back and let myself relax as I buried my head in his chest. I was so short compared to him.
The rest of they day, Kai insisted on walking me to every single class, so more people stared, but I got used to it.
"Want to dance today?" Kai asked after the last period of the day came to an end.
"I would love to, but I can't because my parents are going to be home tonight and they want to have a family dinner," I replied.
"Oh... okay well I'll give you a ride home then," he said and took my hand, bringing me to his car.
I got in and we started off. The car ride was silent, which I didn't mind since I love staring out car windows. I hadn't even realized we were already at my house until Kai opened my door for me.
"Oh sorry," I said when I got out. "I must've dozed off. I didn't realize we were here."
Kai chuckled, "Don't worry."
I smiled, "Okay, see you tomorrow."
I started walking to the door, but I noticed Kai was walking behind me. I gave him a questioning look. "Did you forget something?"
"A gentlemen always walks the lady to the door," he said and did a little bow.
"Haha," I laughed at his gesture.
He laughed with me and we proceeded to walk to the door.
"I'll see you tomorrow," I said and faced him.
"Goodbye Yumi," he said.
He gently grabbed my head and brought it forwards, placing a kiss on my forehead.
I walked inside and he didn't start walking back to his car until I closed the door.
"Why is your face so red?" I heard my moms voice.
"Umm nothing!" I said.
"I can't believe you're here," I said and ran to hug her.
She hugged back for a second before pulling me away from her. "How are you grades?"
I rolled my eyes, "They are good mom."
"Is that an attitude I'm sensing?" She raised her eyebrows.
"No, it's just that I barely see you or dad and whenever I do get the chance to see you, you're only concerned about my grades. And you barely show any kind of affection towards me. Like a minute ago when I tried to hug you and you just pushed me away," I ranted about how I felt and I could see anger form in her eyes.
"Chul! Get in here!" My mom shouted for my dad.
"What is it?" My dad asked as he walked over to us.
"Our daughter is having an attitude," my mom said and crossed her arms.
My dad sighs, "Already Yumi? We just got here..."
"Dad, I was only speaking the truth. I didn't mean to have an attitude, but what I said was 100% true."
"You need to apologize to me right now!" My mom yelled at me.
"I'm not sorry for saying it though," I responded calmly.
"Get out!" My mom pushed me out the door.
