A/N: On Wattpad, The Crimson Claymore has 2,500,000 reads and 1,300 comments. On Amazon, it has 27 reviews at 4.7 stars. I know we can get more reviews up on Amazon. Please leave a review if you haven't already. I thrive on reviews. The more reviews I have the more I'm able to promote and convince people to read the book. The Chronicles of Starlyn still has no reviews, so please review it as well. Both Amazon & Goodreads are the most important. Thanks so much for reading everybody!
Chapter 11
Elainya awoke with a chill as she reached for the covers. She pulled the wool blanket tight over her bare body before her eyes snapped open. Glancing around, she noticed she lay alone, the woman was gone. Elainya clutched the blankets tight as she stood, glancing around the room for clothes. She found a neat pile of them stacked on a dresser. One of her eyebrows raised as she grabbed the clothes. She put them on in a hurry and realized how well they fit.
Elainya's nose twitched. Bacon and eggs lingered in the air. She had hoped the women who had taken her in was gone, but she couldn't resist the smell of eggs and bacon. After taking a deep breath, she stepped out of the door and tiptoed to the dining table.
Silvanya turned to smile at her. "Good morning, dear. I trust you slept well ... I know I did."
"Yes ... I slept fine." Elainya paused, trying to recall what had happened the previous night.
She remembered the woman, and her inviting Elainya to stay with her, but after a drink at Silvanya's house, things became hazy. Her entire body was sore, and she wondered what all Silvanya had done to her.
"Did you drug me last night?" Elainya asked.
"Drug you? Why would you think such a thing?"
"I don't remember much of last night ..."
"You were exhausted. I made sure you got to the bed, you can be sure of that."
Elainya frowned as she sat at the table. She had a hard time recalling what she was doing in the woman's house. Memories began to flood back into her as she remembered her purpose for being in the village.
Silvanya set a plate in front of Elainya before sitting across from her. Silvanya's head tilted and she smirked.
"You are quite beautiful, you know?" Silvanya said.
"Thanks?" Elainya said.
"I do hope you are able to stay another night."
Elainya's eyebrows furrowed. "I have business to attend to in the village today."
"That is fine, I'm more interested in your whereabouts during the night."
Elainya tilted her head. "I'll see how much I get done today. Thank you for the offer."
"Think nothing of it, my dear. Just know that you cannot hide from me."
"Excuse me?" Elainya shivered.
Silvanya smirked. "You cannot hide from me."
Elainya stood abruptly, muttering a few words under her breath, pointing at Silvanya. Silvanya's silver necklace glowed purple, but nothing else happened.
Silvanya's eyebrows raised. "Magic? Don't bother. That does not work on me."
"How?" Elainya asked.
"I made a charm a long time ago. It dispels any magic cast in my direction. I do wonder ... I have not seen you here before."
"What are you?"
