Vacation

I left the hostel gate
On the calendar marked the date
A month disguised in eternity
Excited to meet my fraternity
This is the day the hostelers await.

I pushed the door though it was a pull
Didn't care, my schedule was full
The vacation asked for a weekend
On which no conference dependent
This is the 9 to 5s relaxing tool.

I pulled off the mask, so ecstatic
Smelled something other than antiseptic
Days may be few
Saving lives is my cue
This is a doctor's time to be enthusiastic.

I found myself in a drought
Scarce were my thoughts
May vary from hours to years
This is one of my fears
This what they call a artist's block.

I am always at war
Towards death, I take a tour
Proud to be called as a symbol of heroism
Here, to eradicate terrorism
This is what a soldier will never ask for.

Vacation brings along leisure
Freshens you like a breather
Holidays and hiatus for some
Some may want or have none
It will sooth you and nurture.
