Ch.19 dusk before dawn

Ronnie stood in the cemetery and looked down at a grave . He laid his cold eyes on the tomb stone he had put there himself literally and metaphorically ...it read "here lies hunter miller took life  to slow to be taken to fast "

Ronnie sniffed hard once ...seconds later another sniffed followed and he started crying with out sound and he kneeled down to hunters grave " I know this doesn't mean much now because your aren't alive to appreciate it but ..." Ronnie cried he wiped his face with his jacket sleeve and put his forehead on the top of hunters tombstone and tried to stop crying ...

He looked up and exhaled "I'm proud of you...." Ronnie spoke " it didn't have to be you back there IT COULD HAVE BEEN ME !" Ronnie pounded the ground "it could have been me ... you sacrificed yourself for me AND I TREATED YOU WORST OUT OF THE GROUP " Ronnie grabbed the tombstone with both hands and yelled while crying

It began to rain ... the rain made his hair band come off and his hair dropped and hung over the sides of his face and crossing over his eyes "WHY?!??!" Ronnie yelled so loud it was heard miles away "WHY DID YOU SAVE ME HUNTER !!! Why !! AND NOW YOURE DEAD BECAUSE I COULDNT SAVE YOU ! " Ronnie cried and punched the ground

"And now ....now you're dead ! It's not like you left or you stopped being my friend no ! Your dead I'll never hear you laugh , see you smile , or hang out with you ever again ... why did you do it ..." Ronnie asked and pressed his head against the tombstone as if Hunter could actually answer

Eventually Ronnie stopped and just sat on his knees letting the rain wash over him , drenching his clothes , sagging his hair and covering his tears ..."sir ..." Janis said as she stood behind Ronnie with an umbrella . She walked closer so the rain would stop pouring on him " it's okay Ronnie ...even god is crying "Janis said as she caught a rain drop with an open palm .

Janis kneeled down with Ronnie "he was like my little brother ...but unlike a big brother I didn't save him when I was supposed to !" Ronnie cried as the memory of a knife plunging into hunters heart and then watching him slowly die played in his head "I know it's hard for you ..." Janis kissed Ronnie on the cheek " but Immanuel is looking for you and hunter and you have to explain what's happened ...I just happened to walk by the graveyard and see you ... I don't know to much about what's Happened but hunters not with you and he owns this tombstone so I can only assume the mission didn't go well ..." Janis hugged Ronnie

"Okay ...just let me have some time alone with him ..." Ronnie said

Janis nodded and walked to the front of the cemetery and waited for Ronnie " I love you brother ...." Ronnie said as he looked at his tombstone and then ... he left
