CHAPTER ONE"this is the library you obnoxious ass cracks, fuck the shut up,"
hyungwon looked up from the book he was currently immersed and threw a harsh glare at his two friends that just made their usual loud entrance.
"fuck the shut up?" minhyuk snorted at the mixed up insult, pulling kihyun along with him to hyungwon's spot in the corner. it was hyungwon's favourite spot for one reason and one reason only; it was surrounded by bookshelves so he couldn't see anyone and no one could see him. it's why he always sat there at lunch and whatever breaks his schedule allowed him. being a senior now he had more breaks so he found himself surrounded by his favourite books more and more. it was great. that is, until loud people he calls his best friends come by and disrupt his peace and quiet.
"what book is that?" kihyun asked, pointing as he was pulled to the ground by minhyuk. he stumbled, falling painfully on his butt. he groaned, rubbing it and glaring at his raven haired friend who put his hands up in surrender mouthing an exaggerated 'i'm sorry, senpai'. kihyun rolled his eyes and hyungwon finally spoke up to answer him.
"none of your business by suck my ass."
"you fucking lanky piece o-"
"boys! how many times must i remind you? stop swearing in the library, or anywhere for that matter," the librarian hushed them, glaring harshly. minhyuk stifled his laughter as kihyun flipped her off as she turned her back to continue putting books away, hyungwon caught a glimpse of what was happened and cracked a small smile.
"how many times has that happened this week? if she's that up my ass about swearing why doesn't she just take her hearing aids out."
all three burst out into laughter at kihyun's comment, only laughing louder to hear a 'shush boys!" in the distance.
"oh man, she never fails to make my day," minhyuk wheezed, wiping a fake tear away.
the three boys all sighed once their laughter ended, sitting in silence for a short moment. hyungwon by this point had closed his book, deciding to actually pay attention to his friends.
"so, hyungwonie, me and this sack of ass were gonna hang out by the warehouse this afternoon, wanna join? you haven't been over there in yonks," minhyuk proposed to the book lover.
"yonks? what the actual fu-"
"kihyun! how many times do i have to say it?"
"yeah, yeah, no swearing. gotcha, grandma books," kihyun replied dismissively, waving a hand in the direction of the librarian. she just scowled and waddled away, giving up.
"but yeah, you should come,"
"hm," hyungwon thought it over, shrugging his shoulders, "sure, why not?"
"sick, meet us there at around four."
"nice, now could you like, i dunno, leave? i wanna read this before the end of lunch and you two are being annoying," hyungwon already opened back up the book, not even waiting for their reply.
"wowza, someone's salty today. but yeah, sure, we gotta go meet some other people anyways,"
"tootles."
and with that, hyungwon was left with silence.
nearly at the end of the book he was immersed in, the bell rang causing a growl to spill past his puffy lips. at least 15 minutes more and he would've finished the whole book. but rather than grumbling over the book he was anticipating the ending for, he instead packed the book away into his almost empty bag, selected a few more books to borrow for the weekend and made his way out to his next class.
his next class was art, one of the reasons he didn't just dismiss the bell and continue reading.
art was quite possibly his favourite subject, but hyungwon believed that no matter what, you could never actually have a favourite subject at school; just one you hate the least.
art gave him that quiet and relaxation he needs, and the best part about it was that none of his friends were apart of the class so it guaranteed a silent lesson, something the over-sensitive boy was grateful for. after all; when your hearing senses are this sharp, peace and quiet is much needed to stay sane.
after taking his sweet ass time to arrive, hyungwon pulled open the classroom door and stepped inside. many students turned to stare, just wondering how someone could be this late (it has really only been five minutes since the bell went but most people at this school are salty rats so judgemental states are a given.) as soon as they saw the bored expression gracing the lanky boys features, they shrugged being used to this, and got back to whatever they were doing.
no teacher was present so hyungwon situated himself in his usual corner (the boy loves his corners) and got himself prepared for the lesson.
a few more moments of listening to his classmates pointless conversations that hyungwon deems to be a waste of oxygen, the teacher finally arrives.
frazzled, mrs. han sets her work down on her already overflowing desk and faces the students. swiping loose strands of hair out of her face, she graces them all with a bright smile.
"hello class," she starts and they all greet her back with similar greetings, "sorry for being late but it was for something important. the head of art department decided to throw in a mid term assignment just to see how you're all progressing!"
groans were heard around the room and hyungwon dropped his head into his arms, blocking his ears. it wasn't to much use though, he could still hear the kids close to him complaining.
"oh come on! it's going to be pretty fun and you get to choose what it's based on. there is only one requirement and it's due in four weeks! surely this information is going to get you excited!" mrs. han exclaims, using her arms to emphasise the excitement. some kids looked relieved but others still find it hard to accept that a school project could be fun.
"okay, well, here is the sheet listings all the information that you won't let me get out with all your groaning, and on the other side is the criteria that it will be marked on. please read carefully but other than that, just have fun with it. art is an expression of body, mind and soul so don't forget to be completely in the zone so all those emotions come out onto this, and really any, piece."
mrs. han passed the sheets to a person sitting closest to her prompting them to hand the assignment out to the rest of the class.
once the sheets reach hyungwon's desk, he takes one and passes the rest on. he glances at the sheet, barely registering the words printed out.
he does end up gathering that it's going to be a art work based on an emotion and while hyungwon sits there thinking about what emotion he could possibly do the project on, he keeps picking up on irrelevant conversations and topics his class mates are whispering about in their groups of friends.
however once they start getting a tad louder in volume his eye twitches in irritation and his skin itches for his quiet corner in the library, he decides on his emotion.
annoyance.
