CHAPTER TWO

art was relatively boring. not much happened the rest of the lesson, but the silence made up for it.

once the assignment was explained and the teacher instructed everyone to continue on with their last lesson's work, the students stopped heir mindless chatter and calmly followed the teachers orders.

no whispers were heard, just the sweet sound of silence; hyungwon has learned to tune out the pencil and brush strokes and all sounds following the movements that created such intricate and creative works, so he felt peaceful during the hour, all worries and stress flowed out of him and he actually had a small smile sitting on his face during art.

it was nice.

but sadly time goes on and soon enough the bell rang signalling the end of school.

the bell was way too loud for hyungwon's sensitive ears and he grumbled under his breath at the scrapes of chairs as students got up and packed their stuff away, the sudden loudness of it all left his head pounding and his left eye twitching in irritation.

it was a usual occurrence, after all; it's school, hyungwon attends almost everyday, so of course it happens often, but some days can be worse than others.

luckily, today it wasn't too bad, and he wasn't left with his ears ringing once everyone else filed out, leaving him the last one besides the teacher.

he slowly packed his stuff up, not in as much of a rush as everyone else appeared to be, and then just as slowly, he hauled his tired ass to the door of the classroom, hoping for a quiet stroll from here all the way home.

but, as usual, luck wasn't on his side and before he even reached the door, the teacher called out to him.

"oh, hyungwon!" her voice was higher in pitch causing hyungwon to curse under his breath as his head started throbbing once again. he slowly pivoted and faced her, a fake smile perched on his face, his eyes slightly squinted.

"yes?"

"i've already heard some of the other kids ideas for their project and was wondering what emotion you chose? your works always amaze me so i was wondering what i was looking forward to," she smiled, it overly bright and happy. hyungwon grimaced slightly but quickly shifted it into a sarcastic grin. he wasn't in the mood to deal with people and their happiness.

"annoyance." he muttered through his teeth. with one last fake smile pointed at his teacher that looked shocked and slightly offended, he turned back around and made his way to his home. the whole walk wonderfully silent.

his home wasn't anything special, it was small but cozy enough. the brunette lives alone and has for almost one year. his parents never hated him, in fact he is really close with them, they just felt it was time for him to leave, even if he was seventeen at the time.

he hasn't needed to rely on them ever since he moved out and even before, when he was still living with them, he was independent. it was a mutual decision for him to start truly living independently, and he's done pretty well this far.

so with just a few more strides, he made it to his front door and he unlocked it swiftly, stepping inside and closing the wood behind him with a dull thud.
