Retribution

(Haruki's pov)

The sun of a new day had risen and the last part of the exams has started. Hitori, Minato, Aunt Shira, Aunt Temari (who arrived in support of her son. He lost in the first round.), Aunt Hinata, and I all sat in our seats from yesterday. We stared down at the line-up of contestants who had made it this far.

"Yeesh. No matter who she gets, Kushina is going to struggle with the next battle," Hitori muttered. Minato sent a halfhearted side glare. "Don't doubt my sister, Flame brain. Unlike you, she's got some real talent."

An irk mark appeared above Hitori's forehead. "You wanna go blondie?" She growled. The two butt heads with lightning rushing between their eyes and flames surrounding their bodies.

The mother's tried pulling them apart, but they were having a bit of a difficult time.

I shook my head amusedly and turned to where my father and the other Kages sat. They all stood and waved to the citizens before taking a seat. After Uncle Naruto gave his welcoming speech and a 'good luck' he sat down.

The protractors announced the line-ups. Once Kushina and her opponent's name was called, Minato, Aunt Hinata, and Uncle Naruto froze.

"The second match will be Kushina Uzumaki and Kata Mayu!"

Despite the loud cheering of the overly excited crowd, I could still hear the disbelieving stuttering of Minato. "Are they crazy? Kushina could be killed!" Minato finally shouted. Aunt Hinata put a shaky hand on his shoulder.

From her expression, it was obvious that she was not comfortable with this either.

"Don't worry kid," Aunt Temari spoke up confidently. "If anything fishy happens, we'll be there to stop it!" Aunt Shira finished reassuringly. Aunt Hinata smiled appreciatively. I was also a bit relieved that there was a backup plan for Shina's safety.

"Well it's not like Daito would have let anything happen to his honey~" Tori added tauntingly. She smirked when she realized that she had gotten underneath the male's skin.
