chapter 8: hang over

“If that’s the way you like things are to be, then fine! Throw your life over and over again!” I was expecting that actually-to be scolded early in the morning and to be late in school.

“Hang over sucks!” I told myself as I stood up from my bed and went through the bathroom. The cold water from the shower was very soothing. It washed away the headache I felt right when I woke up and when my sister shouted at me angrily.

I wore my worn out green day shirt and a pair of pants. I grabbed a bacon-lettuce-tomato sandwich care of my sister and went straight to school using my bike. Biking is best for the environment and health and moreover, I didn’t have any money left for gas. And yeah, I’m late for school.

“Did I miss something?!”

“Well, except for the Shakespearean’s sonnet, nothing more.” Olsen, the bright kid answered me.

“Oh, thanks man! Well, then I ain’t late yet, am I? Morning Mr. Hardwood.” I smiled and sat down on my chair.

And just after a minute, the bell rang.

“Ok. Class dismissed.” Mr. Hardwood declared with a glare at me. “Mr. Blackstar, may I talk to you for a second?” and his right eyebrow was up.

So what did he want now?

After a mountain of you should not and you won’t… blah, blah... I hung out with my friends.

“So what do you want to do?” Pete asked.

“I pass.” I told them.

“What?! I thought we’re friends man?”

“Leave him Peter.” James stopped Pete from complaining and acting like a kid.

“Is it about citadel?”

“Yeah... I’m thinking of going out with her today.” I told them just so they won’t be complaining of me ditching them. “Hey! Where’s Zero?” I noticed that the blonde wasn’t around.

“I was going to pass too, actually. Zero went out with some chick. And I’m planning to stay at home.”  James declared his plan.

“What?! Guys, how could you do this to me? You planned on your own! I never hide any secrets from you!”

“Damn it, Peter! Stop complaining for a moment! You’re a big guy now, like literally!” James said irritated.

“What’s wrong with you man?” I asked him.

“Nothing. The hang over kills me! I think I’m gonna ditch class.”

And James left us.

“That’s weird, huh?”

“I guess it’s just you and me now!”

“No man! I told you I’ll pass!”

“Dude?”

The band is really different. James got a very serious attitude problem. Zero the womanizer and the player; no one has ever beaten his skills in seducing all the girls around him. Pete, the drummer, well, he’s cool but the childish one. And as for me, I’m just the guy who was always been enough for anything.
