Chapter 9 - Sunset

Chapter 9 - Sunset

Nicole's POV

"Something important" Tyler's words rang in my ears. I nodded slightly, ignoring the fact that my heart skipped a beat, leaving me breathless.

Downstairs, we sat down at the sofa. Suddenly his skin made contact with my arm. Sparks fluttered around us like electricity. My heart pounded loudly in my chest, as I tried to move away from him. I couldn't. I was frozen, and it was like an invisible force dragged me towards him.

"You two belong together," A voice echoed in my mind. Just my luck. Miss Stupid-Voice's here to spoil my moment with Tyler! Yay... But for the first time ever I didn't answer, ignoring her, concentrating on the intense sparkling feeling. The air around us was electric. He didn't move his arm a centimeter.

"I just wanted to tell you this, so that you won't try to flee again," Tyler began, his voice a bit unsure. Does he feel sparks too? Or is it just me? I wondered, the electricity still making my heart flutter.

"Yeah?" I asked, barely loud enough to hear. My heart pounded so loudly I was sure he could hear it. "Well... It's just... It's about Mr. Dartson. He's dangerous. Seriously."

"Mr. Creepy's dangerous? You kiddin'?" I sarcastically answered, finally able to move my arm away from his. Tell me something I don't know... I thought, my heart calming down.

"I mean like really dangerous. I don't know why he kidnapped you, but there has to be a reason. He and his 'colleagues' are our worst and most dangerous enemies. If you fled, he would perhaps kidnap you once more. " His voice was filled with hatred. "And I won't allow him, or anyone else, to hurt you! Ever!" I looked into his deep emerald eyes which burnt with fire and felt an even deeper desire grow in my chest, where my heart was thumping fastly. I gasped for breath.
