Chapter 7: Discovery

"What are you Dante?" Harmony said in awe.
Dante had blonde hair and navy blue cat ears. He reached down and pulled a cat tail out of his shirt. "I'm a Meif'wa. Part human and part cat. That's why I'm alone. Lots of people take Meif'was into slavery. The only other Meif'was are in hiding. The Dark Lord especially take them. That's why I'm going with you. To save the Meif'was from the Dark Lord. I didn't want to tell you because you might have told someone and they would take me to him," Dante explained.
"Thank you for telling me. Now we get on our way. We keep heading north until we reach the portal," Harmony ordered.
Dante covered up his face with the scarf again. Then they packed everything up and headed on their way. Dante climbed up a tree and jumped beside Harmony riding Sapphire. A couple of minute later the forest changed to a desert. "Dante there are no trees in the desert. How are you going to travel? Unless you want to be jumping from cactus to cactus," Harmony joked.
"Very funny. Actually both of us have to travel by foot. If you ride Sapphire it will be hard for her to walk because she will sink in the sand. So get off her and start walking," Dante bossed Harmony around.
Harmony got off Sapphire and tied a rope to her saddle, so that she could lead her places. The kept on walking until they got to a cave. "The sun is about to set so let's stop here for the night. I'll make the fire then you can cook some food. After I will teach you how to use a dagger," Dante explained.
"I think my dagger skills are quite good just to let you know, but okay," Harmony said as if he just she was ugly.
Harmony took blankets out of her pack as Dante tried to make a fire. "Here let me do it. I learned how to make a fire when I was six before ... never mind. Can you get some meat out of my pack?" Harmony tried to cover up her past.
Dante went over to Harmony's pack and got out some beef. Harmony already started the fire before he came back. Harmony put up the cooking area and spun the meat. "Harmony, what were you going to say before I got the meat? Was it something about your past?" Dante asked.
"I'd rather not talk about it," Harmony said.
"How about we make a deal. I tell you about my past and you tell me about yours. Deal," Dante said with a smirk.
"Deal. You go first," Harmony agreed.
"When I was only eight, I lived with my parents and my little sister in a tribe. I would always call her Fleas and she hated it. One day we were getting ready to hunt, when the Dark Lord and his Dark Fairies came. My mom told me to take my sister and hide. I was about to grab my sister when a Dark Fairy grabbed her. I pulled on her but he was to strong so left her and ran and climbed a tree. I watched in terror as as the Dark Fairies murdered the Meif'was that fought back. My sister fought back. I watched my parents cry as they watched her die. She was only a kid. After they took the living and left. I took my sister and made a grave for her. As I grew older, I made the secret cave that you found and now I'm here. Now it's your turn," Dante explained his past.
"When I was only six, my dad was a guard. One night he went on a mission to fight the Dark Lord with a bunch of other guards. Only seconds after they left the village, screams filled the air. It was them. The Dark Lord knew they were coming. Everybody ran out of their tents with lanterns to see what the commotion was. We searched around the village, but nothing appeared. No blood. No sign of struggle. The Dark Lord took them or killed them. Yesterday was actually the twelfth anniversary of their disappearance. Okay enough of these sad stories. Lets just eat then go to sleep please. You'll teach me how to use a dagger tomorrow," Harmony told Dante.
Dante did as she pleased and stopped talking. They ate as much as they pleased. Harmony walked over to Sapphire and yawned, "Goodnight. We have along way to go in this journey."
Harmony left Sapphire and crawled up into her blanket. Harmony tossed and turned trying to fall asleep. She flipped over to see Dante who was sound asleep. She smiled as she soon fell asleep.

Everything was black and covered in rocks. Lava surrounded Harmony and Dante. "Dante what are we supposed to do?" Harmony panicked.
"I think I can jump to that rock. You stay here," Dante planned.
Dante jumped and just grabbed onto the rock. His toes were just hovering over the lava. He used all his might to pull himself up. "Now you jump. I will catch you," Dante said.
Harmony jumped and Dante caught her. "Okay, let's keep doing that until we get to land," Dante suggested. Right when he finished speaking a low growl echoed across the ravine. They ran until they met the Dark Lord. "Hello there. I have been expecting you," the Dark Lord smiled.
Harmony fired her bow and arrows. The Dark Lord raised his hand and stopped the arrow. He pointed the arrow at Dante and fired. It struck Dante right through the heart. Dante fell backwards limp. "Dante! No!" Harmony yelled.
Harmony ran at the Dark Lord dagger ready. The Dark Lord swooped his hand up and magic lifted Harmony by the throat. "Now it is your turn. This will be just as fun as how I killed him and your father," the Dark Lord laughed a wicked laugh.
He lifted her higher and higher until she hit the caves roof. He threw her into a pit of lava. All Harmony could see was lava until darkness.

Harmony woke up with a scream. She was panting and sweating. "Harmony what's wrong?" Dante said as he ran over.
"Something bad is going to happen. Something really bad," Harmony told Dante as she looked into his eyes.
