Liam's POV
"I'm sorry to bother you about this, Liam, but the fans are getting very suspicous. They're making assumptions about why you and the boys haven't been doing much lately, especially since it's the beginning of the summer." said Tim, who was a part of our management team.
I knew that I would have to tell the fans about the accident at some point, but I just didn't know how to. Sophie would kill me if I talked about her in an interview, but they all know that I have a sister so they're definitely going to ask questions. I had no idea how I was supposed to get out of this one.
"It's ok, Tim. I know what I have to do, doing it is just the hard part." I replied shaking my head.
"I'll make the announcement whenever you're ready, but we have an interview scheduled for today and they're bound to ask questions about the absence and the pictures of you going into the hospital." Tim informed me. I completely forgot about the photos of me entering the hospital to see Sophie. I had been ignoring the fans and staying away from all sorts of media.
"I guess we should make the announcement, but not right now. Maybe an hour or so before the interview." I suggested. I knew that I was obligated to tell Sophie before I made any sort of announcement about us.
"Ok, I'll set the announcement for one thirty." Tim confirmed. "How are you and Sophie getting along I know it's been hard for the both of you."
"I'm trying to figure something out, but she acts like she hates me and doesn't care about the consequences of her actions." I confessed to Tim. He had always been a figure of authority in my eyes, so I felt like he could've helped me.
"She'll find her way, with or without your help. They always do." Tim assured as he put a hand on my shoulder. "I'd just try to speed up the process because some of the management were thinking that she might be better off in a foster home or orphanage until she can take care of herself." That news broke my heart. How could Sophie be better off with some random couple or surrounded by other orphans when she has me? It didn't make any sense!
"Why would they say that?" I asked quietly.
"I think it's because of all the work you guys will be doing and the tours over the next couple of years. You're at the height of your career and I guess they think Sophie's going to hold all of you back." Tim spoke the words I knew, but never wanted to acknowledge.
"She's staying with me, no matter what." I insisted.
"I'll be sure to tell them that." Tim said as he patted my back. "I'm going to go write up the announcement. I won't put Sophie in it, but I'm sure the interviewers will ask about her."
"Thank you Tim." I said as he walked away.
"It's ok, Liam. I know Sophie will come around." was his last remark before he walked away, leaving me to my thoughts, which is not something I enjoyed anymore.
After my conversation with Tim I tried to call Soph, but she didn't answer. I knew she wouldn't answer, but I was still hopeful. It seemed as if she hated everything she used to love, like me and the boys. She used to love hanging out with us when she got the chance.
I walked around the studio's hallways trying to find the room the boys were in. I stumbled upon the break room, and sure enough, they were all there goofing off with a couple footballs.
"Hey, boys, can we have a chat?" I asked them as I sat down at the only table in the large room.
"Sure Liam, what's up?" Niall asked as they all sat down at the table.
"Management is going to make an announcement about the accident later today, before our interview. Tim said that the interviews were sure to ask about Sophie and I don't know what I'm supposed to say." I informed them of my situation. I was so lucky to have four best friends who were always there for me.
