Gran and Harper continued to explain that there was a world full of people with powers, which was were my mom was from. But she moved to earth when she married my dad.
"Is that why people would come after me?" They both nodded their heads. "But if there if a whole world full of people with powers then how come they would just come after me?" Harper and Gran exchanged a look.
"Well thats were it gets a little more complicated," Gran started, "As far as we know, you are the last remaining Night Star."
"Whats a Night Star?"
"The night stars are people that can control aspects of night. They were very rare and looked upon as some of the most powerful magic users to exist," She paused, letting her words sink in for a moment, "there were four types of Night Stars, the Dream Makers, The Constellations, The Fortunes, and the most powers full, The Cosmos.
"The Dream makers created all the dreams in the world, they could make anyone have sleep at any point and controlled what dreams you saw at night. They were the most common and least powerful of the Night Stars."
"The Constellations were the second most powerful, they could create constellations. They made every constellation that you see in the sky. They were responsible for ever star too. They were the warriors of the Night Stars, they could make weapons out of stars and could alter their purpose. Their arrows being the most lethal, extremely sharp and exploded if the Constellation wished."
"Your mother was a fortune. They had the power to look through the stars and find out things about the past and things about the future. Their powers were almost completely useless in battle. But they were the smartest."
"And finally the Cosmos. They were the most powerful and extremely rare, only four have been known to exist. You are one of them Carter."
"What can they do?" I asked.
"They are the most powerful because they have the combined powers of the Dream Makers, The Constellations, and The Fortunes all combined into one person."
"You have reached the age your powers will start to show up, signs would happen through the next week or so. At least that is what we know, and it looks like you have already had one." Gran said pointing to my braid, which was almost completely undone, the white steak completely visible. Gran paused for a moment.
"I think Im going to bring you to Crolem Carter."
"Is that the place full of people with powers?
"Yes, in fact, we can go there tomorrow. Go get some rest, you won't need to pack anything." Harper got up and left, giving me a hug on her way out
I felt like I had been there before, the memory was fuzzy, but I could picture what I thought it looked like. I need to sketch it. I walked up the spiral staircase and sat on my bed, back against the wall, sketch book in my lap.
When I pictured it, I imagined dragons flying in the sky, everything vibrant and full of life. Buildings grew around nature, everything was fully modern, but still very old at the same time.

Gran woke me up before my alarm, telling me to get dressed before we go. She said no to bother with bringing any clothes and just to bring a small bag with necessities. I grabbed my satchel and put my sketch book, pencils and toiletries in it. I also put a photo of me with my mom and dad, all those years ago. After that I got ready, I wasn't sure what the weather was like so I put on a full sleeved shirt and leggings. I put a pair of shorts in my bag just in case, though I don't think I need them.
After I was ready I walked down the stairs, Gran was already waiting for me. We walked to the car and she drove us to the the forest. After that, we got out and walked, this part of the forest had been burned by a forest fire ten years ago, but some trees still stood.
We came up to a cliffside with a waterfall coming down it. Gran walked to the edge of the water fall and walked into a hidden cave behind it. I followed her, but there was nothing in the cave.
"How are we supposed to get there?" I asked.
"Like this." Gran placed her open palm to a smooth part of the caves wall. Her hand stared to glow and a door started to appear where the stone once was. She opened the door and motioned for me to go in.
When I walked out of the door I was standing in lushes green grass, looking out on a city below me. The city was split down the middle. Half of the city only had thousands of colors constantly moving across the buildings and streets. The streets were buzzing with people dressed colorfully, people smiling and laughing as they walked down its busy streets, there clothes moving like the colors on the buildings.
The other half of the city was the opposite. The buildings looked black at first glance, but I could see the patterns of blue, purple, and green dancing across them like the northern lights. All of the builds also sparkled like the stars in the sky, as if the buildings were painted in diamonds. The streets had a few people walking around, but it wasn't as busy as the other part of the city. They wore neutral colors, bleeding in to the buildings that surrounded them, they all smiled, but it was in a dreamy look.
In the center stood a large castle, larger then any building on earth. The walls were white with golden trim, plants grew all over the walls, but it did not looked un kept. The castle had the colors of both parts of the city combined in a beautiful swirls of colorful and dark beauty. The towers were lined with moving stained glass windows, some windows showed the elements, such as a raging fire or a tree, others held moving color systems, some even had animals. But my thoughts were interrupted.
"Ouch quit it!" I heard someone hiss.
"Well maybe if you moved over I wouldn't be able to punch you!" Another growled, the tree in front of me suddenly shook before two girls fell out.
The first one to stand up was tall, with long dirty blond hair and dirty white wolf ears poking out on top of her head. The next had a small frame and extremely pale skin, she had short blond hair and freckles. They both looked at me with wide eyes. The short one tried to play it off, but her pale face was flushed. She tripped over something in the brush and lightning flew from her hands, catching the tree next to her on fire.
A yelp came from the tree before it suddenly exploded with fire as another girl with dark red hair fell out. Another girl came out of the forest and shot water at the flaming tree, putting out the fire. When she finished she looked at me and disappeared.
"Well that was eventful wasn't it?" said a voice behind me, startled I jumped into the girls in front of me, making all of us fall into a heap on the ground. The girl and my grandma started laughing.
We all scrambled to get up, our faces red with embarrassment. Once the girl and Gran stopped laughing they introduced themselves.
"Im Clementine, but I prefer if you call me Clem." said the girl with the short game, she had big glasses that she kept pushing up her nose nervously, her eyes a light grey.
"Im Rai," said the tall one with wolf ears, she had a very exotic and outgoing personality, she had big fake glasses and a large wolf tail.
"Im Jeniffer, Jen for short." said the redhead, she was an average height, with straight dark red hair. Her skin was pale, but also had a pink tinge to it.
"Im Talena," the water girl finished. She was rather short with dark skin and frizzy curly hair, she had dark brown yes and a mischievous smile.
"Im C-Carter," I stammered, slightly nervous from being around so many new people.
