Hope you like it:) Updates as often as I can <3

Summer was finally here. No more school, no more homework assignments, no more waking up at 6 in the morning and rushing out the door without breakfast just to make it on time for school. I was free- only for 8 weeks but I was still out of that hell hole. Lucky for me I hated school, but some how I manage to get the grades I want without trying. This summer had big expectations to live up to, but like every other year they were never met. This summer is about me. As selfish as it my sound, I never really thought about myself. Ever. I'm always so busy taking care of everybody else around me, I forget to take care of myself. All I wanted was to spend each day doing what I wanted, living it like it was my last with my best friend Sienna.

Sienna and I had been planning this summer for so long, nothing could ruin this. Before I could fall back to sleep I got out of bed and made my way downstairs.

"Morning sunshine," my Mom chimes as I reach the bottom of the stairs. "How's the first day of summer vacation treating you?"

"I'm so excited. Sienna and I have so much planned!" I can't handle the excitement it feels like I've waited forever.

"That's sound great honey." She says smiling, "what would you like for breakfast? Pancakes? Waffles?"

Okay, usually when I came down to eat anything that my mother made it was either eat it or leave. Why was she in such a good mood?

"Urmm whatever Jamie wants to eat."

"Waffles!" My five year old brother says jumping up and down in his seat.

I take a seat at the island in the middle of the kitchen next to him and watch her make the batter. I can't help but wonder why she's acting so strange i wonder what she's hiding. After she's finished, they are placed on two plates covered with chocolate and strawberries. Wow my mother has not gone to so much just for breakfast before. She used to up until my father died, but ever since then she never had the time.

"As we were speaking of summer, I have something I need to tell you both." Mom says breaking the silence. Neither Jamie or I say anything as she continues. "You know my oldest friend from college, Uncle David? Well David's business firm has been relocated and he is planning on moving near here in the fall with his son." She says hanging on the end of her sentence I know there's more that she is still trying to tell us.

"And?" I ask.

"And, the place that they found isn't available for another month and they have to be out of the house in the next few days..." She says looking at us hoping we'll catch on. Jamie looks up at me confused and I shrug my shoulders. Good to know I'm not the only whose not getting this.

"What I'm trying to say is Dave and his soon are coming to live with us for the next few weeks."

What?!

When did we agree on this? I love uncle David and everything but this summer is mine. Im just gonna have to make time but I am NOT going to change my plans just for them, I've waited too damn long.

"Well? Say something?" I hadn't even noticed neither of us had spoken.

"Just for the summer?" Jamie says.

"Yes, just for the summer." My Mom nods smiling with Jamie's approval

I can just do everything on my summer bucket list around Uncle Dave and his son.

"I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't change my summer."

As soon as breakfast was over my Mother when up stairs and started getting their room ready. I walked into my room and found her moving my stuff do the side of one room, and putting some stuff in boxes.

"Mom what are you doing!" I know I never clean my room but can she at least not go through my stuff. She promised not to after the last time where she found my diary.

"Sorry honey I had to make room for Derek's stuff?!" I stopped dead in my tracks.

"WHAT!" This cannot be happening. I know I've never met the guy but my bedroom is my only private space. "Mom, I am not going to be sharing a room with some stranger!"

"Where did you expect him to sleep?" She says like it was obvious where he was going to be staying

"Urmm I don't know with his father?!"

Before she has time respond it hits me that I'm going to have to get dressed in the morning with him. I cringe at the thought. Ew. "They said they could be arriving anytime between today and tomorrow." Fantastic! At that moment my phone on my bed side table starts to ring and I answer on the 2nd ring when I see the name across the screen. I leave the room making it clear to my mom how frustrated I am and prepare myself to tell Sienna everything.

Two hours later I was finally off the phone with Sienna. We  can talk for hours longer but my mom  yelled at me to go downstairs. I told Sienna everything and complained about the whole situation repeatedly. I know she's used to it so I didn't hold back on telling her how i felt. She told me not to be so cynical. He might be nice or really hot. I know both of those won't be true. I have never had a boyfriend so ther's no chance- even if was 'to die for' that anything could happen. Wow. At the bottom  of the stairs I look around at the brand new house I've stepped inside of because this definitely isn't mine. The house is usaully always clean, but I have never seen it this clean.

"So this is what the house looks like when it's clean." Only Jamie laughs at my amazing joke. My mom just gives me a glare and straightens out the clothes she made us change into, which we were planning on staying in all day.

"They're gonna be here any minuet." I never understood why she was out to impress Uncle David all of a sudden. I was no longer looking forward to summer. My dreams had been demolished by mother in minuets and the nightmare was going to be my life for the next 8 weeks..
