Sam and Colby woke up in an unknown hospital, both of them bandaged and hooked up to machines. "Finally, you're awake" a deep voice said. Both boys looked to the direction of the voice and spotted an older, white male. "Do you care to explain what happened? If your memory is a blur right now, I understand. But, police will be here soon to investigate you both. The situation with the church was strange and hectic. Definitely something we don't see often" the male, Dr. Rose, said. Sam slowly nodded in understanding, seeing Colby was still a bit dazed. The man stood up and left, leaving them in awkward silence. "Colby, what are you going to say to the cops? They'll think you're crazy if you say a spirit is possessing you..." Sam said in a raspy voice. "It's more than a spirit, Sam... it's evil. I don't even want to say what it is. It's crazy to even think this is happening...." Colby said in an equally raspy voice. Sam sighed, shutting his eyes. "I know.. but, what are we going to tell them? If we lie, we can get in jail for all we know. I mean, the windows breaking, your stab wounds, the blood shed... we probably look like murderers in their eyes..." There was silence. Sam looked over to Colby, who was staring at the ceiling. "I don't know. I'm just...I'm tired." Sam sighed. He's been sighing a lot lately. "Okay. Well...goodnight." Colby shut his eyes and immediately fell into a deep slumber, but for Sam, sleep wasn't as easy to come by. He would stare at the wall and look over to Colby, making sure he was okay. After around 20 minutes of this, the door opened. Sam looked over to see a woman, tan with long dark brown hair in a police uniform. Sam tried to say, "Hello", but all that came out was a pathetic croak. "Hello Mr..." The young lady flipped through some files she carried in her hand. "Ah, Mr.Brock,  Mr.Golbach" the lady said, a light bulb shining above her head. "I have a couple of questions for you two boys, regarding the church situation. First off, what was your purpose in going there at 3:00 A.M?" The lady questioned. Sam stared at her blankly, biting his cheek. "You'll think we're crazy. You'll think I'm crazy. This sort of thing isn't really something you tell to the cops.." He spoke up. "Sir, I'm going to need you to tell me, even if it sounds ridiculous" She said, a stern tone to her voice. Sam fixated his jaw and looked into her eyes. "We went there because he was having troubles... I was editing a video and I-I hear him crying. I hear the sheets moving around and the bed hitting the wall. When I walked in our room, he was-he was scratching his back... not just normal scratching, but he was clawing into it.  There was blood everywhere. He just wasn't acting like himself. He was crying out to me, his eyes were fearful. His eyes screamed 'help.' The events before this incident was the cause of this all. We went to explore an abandoned house, which I know is something we shouldn't be doing in the first place, but it's what we do. He was drawn there.. I got this weird vibe from that place, but he insisted we go explore more. I didn't bulge. After a while, he showed me this place- a hidden attic- with a pentagram on the floor.. there was blood and candles and chains... it was something satanic. Then all of this happened. It's crazy, I know. But, it's true.." He babbled. The lady nodded understandingly, proceeding with her next question. "When you got there, what caused the blood shed? What caused the statues and windows to break?"
"Colby... Well, not him exactly, but the thing inside of him. His eyes rolled back into his head, deep, dark, red veins popped out of his neck, all the way to his forehead. The whole place shook. The statues bled and broke, the nuns cried and screamed. Father fell to the ground, along with me. When it was over, Colby started... stabbing him self. It was terrible. That was the last thing I remember before waking up here.. If you need to ask more questions, then I'm sorry but I can't answer them.. everything is a blur" Sam said. "Thank you for your time, Sir. Though, I think I need to talk to your doctor to make sure you get treated in a different hospital. I'm just being honest here, dear. This seems like something out of your imagination. Religion is one thing, but... this is reality. You'll be treated for a week or two, if said doctor agrees. You don't need to worry, you'll get better with your time in there. Don't think I'm being harsh, I'm only trying to help, okay?" She said as if speaking to a child. She got up and left the room, leaving Sam to drown in his own tears. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He knew he wasn't crazy. He knew this wasn't his imagination, but real life. Yes, religion was one thing, but.. what he saw was real. What happened in that church was real. He knew Colby was possessed by a dark entity. He knew all of this was real, and to spend his time in a mental hospital? Imagine what would happen if he wasn't by Colby's side... these thoughts seemed to go on for hours, until finally Colby woke up, just in time for the doctors and police officers to walk in. He quickly turned his head to Sam and raised his eyebrows in which Sam replied with a confused shrug. "Hello Sam-" "Mr.Brock and Mr.Golbach" Colby interrupted them, glaring."Yes." said the doctor they saw earlier, "Samuel" "It's just Sam" The doctor breathed in deeply. "Sam," he said quietly, "since you seem to be in the best health condition, we need you to come with us." Sam's eyes widened. What about Colby, he thought. The boys looked to each other;both eyes filled with fear. "No, I can't leave Col-" Sam was cut off. "Sam. We need you to get out. Now." the doctor said in a stern voice. Sam lowered his eyes. He wanted to refuse, but there was no point in fighting them. They had all the power, Sam felt useless. He slowly stood up, not making eye contact with Colby. He was ashamed in himself, for the first time in his life he had no choice. Colby blurted, "Sam wh-" until he realized the little chance of being together. "Don't leave me" Colby whispered so quietly only Sam could hear him. Sam gulped and looked into Coby's eyes, mentally apologizing. He hoped Colby would catch on. "Over this way." the doctors and officers walked out the room and into the hall, Sam following them. They led him into a smaller, separate room, and sat him down on a hard bed. "Now, Sam. I'm going to need you to answer these questions again. You've answered once before, but I'm afraid you were a bit too out of it to realize what you were saying..." The lady, who's name was Officer LoveGood, said. "No. I'm not answering those questions again. I've told you before, and I'm not telling you again. I knew what I was saying and I won't think differently than I did a few hours ago. I'm done reliving those moments of pure horror..." Sam interrupted. Officer LoveGood sighed and put her hand on his knee, showing a sign of comfort. "Sam. This is all in your head, which is why we need to get you treated immediately. This case will remain open until  your mind is healed and sane enough. Do you understand?" She said sweetly. His eyes started watering and he started shaking his head frantically. "No... no! I'm perfectly sane! None of this is in my head! It's real, it's all real!" He shouted, tears streaming down his face. "Sir, I need you to calm down" she said. He shook his head, clenching and unclenching his fists. He sat upright and set his right foot on the ground, attempting to escape. The cops and doctors surrounding the bed roughly gripped his arm and legs, and pulled him back on the bed. Sam kicked and thew his arms screaming, "It's all real! I'm not crazy! Colby! Colby!" His throat ached and his voice began to sound raspy. "Colby!" The doctors restrained him on the bed to where he couldn't move anything except his head. He banged it on the bed and yelled "I'm not crazy! Let me go!" A doctor pushed into the crowd with a long, pointy needle filled with a clear substance. Sam screamed unrecognizable words and attempted to break free. The doctor quickly rammed the needle into Sam's arm and squeezed the clear liquid through his veins. Almost immediately, Sam's vision became blurry. This time it wasn't from his tears. He mumbled curses to the doctors and police as his whole world slowly became darker and darker until it was completely black.
