The door creaked open and someone slid a dish of food in. It was soup. The same soup I've had for months. Tasteless, gross, watery. But it was all they gave me. Twice a day.
I've been here so long I began to forget what other people sounded like. I cried myself to sleep every night for the first couple weeks but eventually, they dried up. I couldn't cry again if I wanted to.
I crawled over to the soup and ate, drinking the glass of water that came with it. The water helped with the tasteless cold soup. It wasn't so disgusting.
"Just... let me see her. This is cruel, Slendy. He's not going to kill her. He's just letting her sit there alone. Please." I heard someone say. I knew the voice. It was familiar but I couldn't quite place it.
"I think it's cruel too. But letting someone see her isn't my choice to make. She's his victim."
"BUT HE'S NOT EVEN TOUCHING HER!! HE PROBABLY FORGOT ALL ABOUT HER!" The person yelled back. A sigh was herd.
"Very well. But it's on your ass if he finds out." The door creaked open.
"Aslin.." Toby stood in the doorway. It shut behind him and he knelt in front of me.
"Hey." I said, more like croaked, due to not using my voice in a while.
"I'm sorry I can't stay long. I just needed to make sure you're ok. You have a friend here." He said. He leaned over and wrapped his arms around me tightly for a moment then walked out, shutting the door behind him.
Just like that I was alone again. Seeing him did make me feel better... its just.. I don't know. He... wasn't the person I wanted to see. The person I really wanted to see was.. Jeff. As odd as it sounds... I wanted to see him.
I shook my head. Maybe things were just getting to me. Then the weirdest thing happened. The door flew open.
Jeff walked in and then slammed the door behind him. My eyes widened as he walked up to me.
"I don't get it." He growled then pinned me by my neck to the ground. I cried out, clawing at his wrist.
"WHY WON'T YOU GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!" He screamed in my face. He bent close to my ear. "You don't know how badly I want to kill you. But every time I stand in front of this goddamn door, with my knife in my hand, I can't make myself do it!" He was shaking with anger.
My eyes narrowed at him, my own anger rising as well. "Why am I here?" I croaked. He looked at me and let go of my neck, sitting back putting his head in his hand, just looking at me and studying me.
"I don't even know. I was actually going to kill you one night, but something stopped me. It was weird. I couldn't bring my knife to any of your vital areas. So I asked Slendy to look into you and.. he told me you dreamt of me. Of us.. together. I don't know what it is about you.. but I can't get my damn mind off of you. I don't even know why I'm telling you!" He let out, putting his head in his hands.
I crawled over to him on my hands and knees and sat on my knees in between his legs. His eyes widened a bit and looked me over, grabbing a strand of my hair and slid it in his fingers. "It's gotten longer..." He whispered. His fingers moved to my jaw line and slid them down to my chin. "I just don't know what to do with you anymore." He sighed, his eyes on my lips.
"Let me go home. I- I'll stop thinking about you." I looked down. His hand dropped from my face and fell to his side.
"Fine. It's no use for you to stay here. you're just wasting space." He growled.
My eyes widened. He was really letting me go? I could really go home? He stood up, griping my fore arm, lifting me to my feet. "Jeez. You're a wreck." He chuckled.
"It's not my fault you left me in this room to rot." I mumbled. He smirked, walking out of the room in front of me.
"It was only a couple months." He shrugged, helping me out.
"Only a couple months?! What kind of person locks someone else in a freezing dark room with NO communication at all?!" I fumed while squinting at the bright lights of the sun streaming through a window.
"Me. I'm a killer remember? Psycho?" He turned my head from side to side. "You've gotten thin. That's what I get for making Masky cook. He can only make soup." He rolled his eyes. "I'll take you home. Just eat or something when you get there." He mumbled.
Well isn't he acting strange. It's almost like... he cares. I gave him a weird look, which he returned.
"Well, well. If it isn't Jeffery and the little wretch he's keeping such a close eye on that I've heard so much about." A woman cackled and heeled footsteps drew nearer. Jeff moved in front of me, his hand moving to the pocket at the front of his hoody.
"What do you want, Jane?" He spit her name out like it was poison as a woman stepped out of the shadows. Her hair was black as ravens feathers, with eyes to match. A smug smirk plastered on her face. I gasped and moved behind him more, grabbing the back of his sweater.
"What do I usually want when we meet." She pulled out a sharp butchering knife, charging at him. He pulled out his own but he wasn't going to have enough time to raise it. She would pierce him. I acted fast without thinking and pushed him aside, just enough for her blade to fly past him and into my shoulder.
"A-Aslin...!" He stared at Jane and then back at me. The knife was imbedded into my shoulder to the hilt.
Her face pinched into a scowl of disgust. "Look at you, Jeff. What have you sunk to? Relying on a mere mortals protection." I cried out as she twisted the blade in my chest.
"Stop hurting her!" He cried. Jane jerked the knife out of my chest, causing me to fall to the ground, my hand clutching the wound, while blood flowed heavily through my fingers. I took short, quick breaths, feeling my throat begin to close and air to seep from my lungs faster than usual. Was I really going to die here...?
"You... YOU BITCH! I'LL KILL YOU!" Jeff raged. He dove at her but something stopped him mid jump.
"Now you two stop fighting." Slendy stood behind Jeff, holdings his hood with a tentacle and Jane by the waist with another. "Jane. Go back to your room. I'll be having a chat with you later." Slendy said, his voice deep and angry. Jane nodded as the tentacle retracted from her waist, leaving her free to walk in the opposite direction. Jeff was also set on his feet.
"What happened, Jeff?" Slendy asked as Jeff ran to my side.
"You idiot! Why in the world would you protect me? I could've survived that!" He yelled, his expression unclear due to my blurred vision.
"Sorry.. couldn't... help myself...." I managed to mumble. My lower half had started to go numb, which was a horrible sign.
"Give her to me. I'll heal her then bring her to a human hospital. You'd do the girl good not to get her mixed up in our affairs again. She's too fragile." Slendy warned as he bent down, carefully lifting me in his arms.
"I-I can't see her?" Jeff asked, standing.
"If you care for this girl at all, then you'd best stay away from her. Although I can't tell you what or what not to do with her it's just my suggestion." And then he walked away with me, the last thing me seeing before I let my consciousness slip away was Jeff, staring at the floor.
