His entire demeanor changed. His body turned tense, his blue eyes turned cold. It was like I was suddenly with a whole new person.
"I'm going to kill that bitch." He growled, his arms tightening around me.
"Jeff. Please don't do anything. I'm fine. If you tell her, things will only get much worse for me." I bit my lip, looking up at him from my place in his lap. He seemed to consider this.
"Your safety is all I care about.." he whispered, his hand on my waist twitching slightly. I could tell he was holding back his anger. I decided... maybe I should take his mind off of her.
"Jeff." I whisper, cupping his cheek and turning his head to face me, wanting him to concentrate on me and only me. His eyes grow wide at the sudden physical contact but he soon leans his cheek into my hand, his composure calming.
"Move in with me..." he whispers back.
I suck in a quick gasp of air. "I-into the mansion with you...?" I ask bewildered. He nods and looks at me with these adorably hopeful eyes.
"Into your room...?" I believe I've become slightly breathless. I was being asked to move in with Mr. Mercurial. Jeff and his ever raging anger issues.
He nods, turning his head to gently kiss my palm. "Or I could move in with you.." His voice is soft and persuasive. It makes me weak. I know I can't get out of this.
"Fine..." I whisper, resting my forehead against his. "We'll find a cheap apartment or something..." Anything is better than that mansion...
But Jeff shook his head. "I'm not letting you live in a cheap apartment." he whispered against my ear, while pulling my hair away from my neck. Jesus... If Jeff was any more gentle and romantic I think I would explode.
"Why not a cheap apartment? Most of them are kind of cozy... I'd much rather that then some big house that echoes when I speak." I whispered back, leaning into his touch.
"I know somewhere. You'd like it. We can go today if you'd like." He kissed along my jaw.
"Today...? I have to pack my things then." I groaned and leaned my head against his chest.
"I'll help." He carefully lifted me off of him and got off the bed, stretching. I smiled and watched as he grabbed one of my suitcases and packed it with my clothes, folding things with those careful and precise hands and then gently placing them in. I bit my lip as I watched him. Everything he did was graceful. The way he walked, the way his hands moved. He was so sure footed. I guess that's just something that serial killers had about them. But this was Jeff. And watching him do these things, as if he was gliding around the room, it amazed me.
"Do you have anything in the living room?" He asked, breaking me out of my trance. I thought for a moment and shook my head. "Ok. I got everything from the bathroom and all of your clothes from the dresser. We can leave any time." He walks over to me and slides his arm around my waist, pulling me to stand up.
"Ok..." I smiled and looked up at him. I wasn't too sure how this was going to play out, but I knew that he'd always keep me safe. It's just... I don't know if he can keep me safe... from himself.
