Chapter 22

Zeon POV
~4 Weeks Later~

Today is a good day for me and it has just begun. Today, my little princess Julissa is one month and I'm more excited than I thought I would be. Like, my child is growing and she rocked her first month of life.

"Woah, am I seeing a ghost?" Freddy joked as I walked into my store, which was packed with customers.

"Shut up fool." I chuckled as I dapped him up.

"Why you here on a shipment day? Tay let you leave the house?" He asked.

"She damn near pushed me out the door talking about, I'm in the house to much and that I need to go do something." I said making him laugh.

"She's right! You've turned down every invitation and opportunity to go out with the guys ever since Julissa was born. You just be home with your wife and daughter."

"Yeah, and I'm perfectly fine with that. I want to spend as much time as I can with my daughter until I really have to get back to work. Tay and I are trying to figure out what to do once she goes back to work. I want her to have her freedom and have the decision to stay home or be a working woman, but I don't think I'm ready to just hand over my daughter to a baby sitter. I don't trust people, you know this shit my nigga." I stressed.

"This is where the grandparents come in to play. By grandparents I mean grandmothers. They literally live for this shit. So in the morning, drop off Julissa with your mom or her mom, then whomever heads home first will pick her up. Free babysitting right there." He advised me. I thought about doing that, but then I thought of the possibility of them not being able to.

"I guess we can ask her mother. My mom just had my brother and I KNOW she's not gonna be up for taking care of two newborns. We've still got like a month before she even has to get back to work, so we'll figure it out."

"Sounds good. So why exactly are you here again?" He chuckled.

"I'm just gonna check on the new shipments then decide what's gonna go on clearance to make room for the new shit. Then I have to go pick up Tayeisha's push present, and I need your help with that." I said. He shrugged and nodded.

I weaved through people and walked to the back of the store. I groaned and looked at all the damn boxes. Some of the employees are already opening and unpacking the clothes. I grabbed the clipboard on the wall which has a list of everything that we should be receiving. As they continued to unpack stuff, I checked them off the list. At the same time, I'm looking over shipment list from a month ago and selecting things to go on clearance. This has to be the most boring shit ever.

I paused what I was doing when my phone continued to go off. I pulled my phone out of my pocket to see a whole bunch of text messages from Tay. I opened the conversation and a smile instantly spread across my face. She sent me some photos of Julissa while she was sleeping and taking a bath. Damn, I miss my baby girl so much. Hey big eyes just do something to me. She's literally my world.

While I was going through the photos, my phone started ringing and it was Tay calling. I quickly picked up with a smirk.

"Missing daddy already?" I asked with a slight chuckle at the end.

"No nigga. You better stay your ass at work."

"Stop playing with me Tay." I sucked my teeth.

"I'm joking. Of course I'm kidding you daddy. Your daughter is too. It's like as if she knows you're not here cause I've been trying to put her to sleep but she's wide awake." She sighed.

"That's cause I hold her differently than you do. It takes a long time for you to put her to sleep because you hold her head a certain type of way, I can't explain it." I said.
