The next morning I walked down stairs wearing a hoodie, shorts and a pair of sunglasses, my curly hair up in a tight bun. Today I either be extra careful or full blown out there with my new alterations. I guess it all depends on if someone pisses me off.. which is probably bound to happen. I scurried into the kitchen and grabbed an apple before dashing to the door.
"Seeya Mum!" I shouted before running out the front door not waiting for a reply. She would freak out if she saw my eyes. I walked out onto the path of my long street where many people walked around with their dogs and kids waited for school buses. Im not much of a people person and my street screamed people in every direction. My bus came two minutes later and I hopped on without looking at anyone, taking a seat near the back.
I dropped my bag onto the empty seat beside me and heard snickers behind me, I tilted my head to the side to stare at two year 10 girls who were clearly talking about me. It could be the fact that its summer and im wearing a hoodie but who gives a shit. I turned around and harshly whispered "Shut.up" their eyes widened and they stopped talking. Thankgod, their voices irritated me. I settled into my seat and looked upfront at a small group of water elementals who were guiding water from their drink bottles into their mouths. I rolled my eyes as people around started giggling at the spectacle. I was instantly reminded of Haley and how she would have changed over night, what element will she get. I frowned and sadness filled me, I need my best friend now more then ever and people will try everything in their power to keep her away from the green eyed freak. But you aren't anymore remember? a voice in my head reminded me. I nearly forgot and for a second I was almost filled with some kind of hope until I realised once again I was still the odd one out. One girl wolf pack.
"Goody.." I mumbled, sinking further into my seat and pulling my hood over my head even more.
We arrived at school and I immediately glanced around in search of Haley and spotted her standing by the entrance of the school with a group of air elementals, stuck with the airheads. Unfortunate for her. Me and her use to make jokes about how dumb most of them are, weird coincidence how they seemed to get the same element. Not that all the others won't be dumb, and some are smart too. Keyword some. I remember in year 9 when this kid Jake Moore had his change, he ended up setting some guys pants on fire. Dumb, but freaken' hilarious.
I came back to reality to see Haley making a pen float above her right hand, a huge smile on her face. Her new gang cheered and gave her hugs, congratulating her.
I shook my head, Disappointment clear on my face. I walked past them and Haley's smile dropped, she made a move to advance towards me but as I thought the others held her back and multiple grey eyes glared at me in disgust. I carried on walking but not before pulling the middle finger at them all.
I was walking down the side of the wall towards my locker when I bumped into someone, I looked up waiting for the instant disgust most elementals directed at me when I was met with two... Green eyes? My mouth fell open, I blinked and then they were blue. I shook my head I must want someone who's like me so badly.
The owner of the blue eyes was an incredibly cute black shaggy haired guy. He grinned at my expression before walking off. I gripped the straps of my backpack tightly, Of course he won't want to be near me. I rolled my eyes, everyone's always finding a way to mock me. I carried on walking to my locker.

School went by as usual, everyone ignoring me and my weird attire for this hot summers day. That was until my last class of the day, English.
The class had just started and the grumpiest teacher you will ever meet decided to pick on me. Miss Reeves.
"Miss Callister, would you take off your glasses we are inside now" she ordered, her brown eyes narrowing at me from the front of the class.
Shit. I began to panic, just ease yourself out of this one Ally.
I coughed and realised everyone's attention was focused on me.
I fidgeted in my seat and replied
"Uhm... you see I-I have an.. eye infection?" I Spluttered, the last part coming out as more of a question. Crap. A guy to my right snorted and I gave him a strong glare daring him to keep going, he quickly looked away from me. Yeah that's what I thought. I turned my head back to my cold teacher.
Miss reeves pursed her lips before her eyes slightly widened as a thought must of hit her. Oh boy...
"Miss Callister are you hungover young lady!" She said practically shouting the accusation. I didn't flinch. There's no way I'm giving her that satisfaction.
I gritted my teeth and gave her a thin lipped smile. "No, I am not hungover you inconsiderate cow" I sweetly replied to which the whole class gasped. On the inside my emotions were all over the place. Rage, annoyance, confusion. But on the outside I looked perfectly calm, amazing acting I might say. Every feeling seemed to be heightened, but it's not my fault she's a bitch.
Let's just say I got told to head to the principals office after a few anger filled statements from the teacher.
Not that I listened Ofcourse. I simply strutted out of the school and walked home. Ain't no one pissing me off today.
~.~.~.~
When I got home I headed straight to my room, knowing mum won't be home till later. I threw my glasses onto the carpet, flipped on my speaker and started blasting out some house music. Not caring if the neighbours cared. Stuff them. Damn, I'm extremely moody and it's not even that time of the month!
I sighed loudly and flopped onto my bed groaning into my sheets. I was in the middle of doing the starfish on my bed when my door burst open.
"Ally Callister! You turn that music off right now young lady!" My mother shouted over the music. Oops. I slid off the bed like a penguin and flicked the off switch. I turned around to be greeted by the not so happy face of my mum. Though that happy face soon turned into one of shock.
"Ally, would you please explain to me why your eyes are purple?"
I opened my mouth but no sound came out. Come on voice work!
I swallowed "I thought.. I'd get some contacts.. New me?" That seemed to do the trick.
"Well that explains the hair then" she said her eyebrows raised. I mentally highfived myself. Right.
"Anyway back to being serious. You were called to the principals office today and you didn't go?"
I totally didn't think about them phoning my mum.
I cringed "yes..."
"Apparently you were harassing a teacher for no apparent reason, now that doesn't sound like you" she said
sounding confused.
She's right I'm never like this but I sure as hell didn't talk back for no reason!
I sat on my bed and crossed my arms.
"Mum I had a perfectly good reason to 'harass' her, she picked on me because of my eyes and said I was hungover!" I grumbled, using quotations on harass.
My mum sat down next to me and gave me a one arm hug, her face full of sympathy for her unusual child.
I leaned into her and and relaxed. Today was far too stressful for my brain.
She moved a strand of hair away from my face. "I believe you honey, but that's not all the principle wanted to talk to me about.."
Curious now I looked up into her grey eyes to see nothing but sadness. What could possibly be worse than today..
I raised an eyebrow waiting for her to talk.
"He told me that since you are now the only person in the school that's not an elemental it's not right that you go to that school.." She explained giving my shoulder a comforting squeeze.
"Are you serious Mum? Where else am I supposed to go?!" I questioned, seriously taken back by this new piece of information. Someone not being an elemental is so unheard of that there isn't anywhere else to go..
"He's giving you 2 weeks" she told me gently but her voice was lost in the background.
But the signs are all there, my eyes, my newfound temper and backbone. I am an elemental. I just don't know what kind..
