Will someone be a pal and tell me why I can't get the italics setting for my text bc I'm extremely confused???? LAST CHAPTER OMGGGGG ARE YOU EXCITED??
EDIT: FUCC I JUST REALIZED THAT MADDIE DIED A FEW CHAPTERS AGO. SO I EDITED A FEW THINGS.
BRYNN'S POV
I lay on my back in the soft, white chair. I keep my mind focused on the pen clicks of my impatient shrink.
"We're not going to get anywhere if you don't at least try to talk about it, Brynn," she shoots. I just ignore her. I know she doesn't genuinely care about my mental health, she is just in it for the money. When I actually made a crack at venting out in the past, she kicked me out as soon as my session was over.
The old bat pulls out her pocket watch and checks the time.
"You're dismissed," she says. I lay down for a few more seconds in the comfy chair, then I throw my feet off the side and dart out of the room, wanting to get out of there as soon as possible.

I grab my school binder and shove it into my backpack, then throwing the heavy bag over my shoulder. I have a counseling period at school instead of one of my other periods, which I don't really mind all that much because it's more of a break than counseling.
On my way down the stairs, I feel something collide with my ankles, then next think I know, I come face first with the floor.
"Well, well well, look who it is," a venomous voice spits , "why didn't I see you in the halls during 6th period? Oh right, you were at your counseling!"
I turn myself and begin to gather my things, looking up at the face belonging to the voice. I am shocked the see Maddie standing in front of me.
"M-maddie? Didn't you die?" I ask, my voice shaky.
"While you were too busy slitting your wrists and tearing your thighs open of your dead friend, I woke up from a deadly concussion." she shoots, "How's Mackenzie? Oh right, she's dead!"
"Leave me alone," I mumble, completely ignoring the fact that she survived the fall from the flight of stairs. I'm actually quite disappointed that she's alive right now.
"Oh, just like we left your friend, Mackenzie, alone?" Maddie cackles.
I grit my teeth together in utter anger.
"She was your sister, too," I add.
"She was adopted," Maddie says, crouching down next to me , "her old parents told us she was a failed abortion, and that they didn't need an unwanted presence roaming around the house,"
Kalani and Chloe laugh at the statement.
"You know that's not true," I whine.
"Oh, but I'm afraid it is," she teases , "it's also the thing the two of you have in common. Your parents do not love you,"
"Y-yes they do," I cry.
"Then why are they never home, supporting and comforting their mentally unstable teen?" she asks with a pouty face. I ignore the brunettes statement and throw my backpack over my shoulder once more, marching away from the crowd. I don't make it too far, as Chloe's stiletto collides with the arch of my spine, causing me to topple to the floor once again.
Chloe leans into my ear and whispers , "don't think it's over, bitch," and slaps her hand across my pale face, causing the entire hallways to burst into fits of laughter. Then she struts away with the sound of her heels clanking against the hallway floor.
I can't wait to get out of this hell hole.

I rush into my empty house and slam the door behind me. Did I mention we got a new house? My mother and father thought it would be a good idea, as I couldn't bare to be in the same room my friend had hung herself in without instantly collapsing onto the floor, bursting into a fit of tears, and ripping my hair out.
I run into my room and throw my backpack on the ground.
I flop onto my bed and open my laptop to an obscure about of notifications, all from my Cliqstr. I unlock the computer and go onto my account. I'm tagged in an endless amount of photos from me in the hallway today, on the ground.
"Such a fucking loser. No wonder her parents don't want her,"
I try to stop reading the comments, but I can't. There is some dark part inside me forcing me to continue reading. I have to know what they're saying. There is a toxic voice in my head telling me , "continue reading Brynn, you want to know what they're saying, right? Or are you going to be a coward and turn away from them?"
"I'm not a coward!" I cry, slamming my laptop shut.
I rush into my bathroom, locking the door behind me. Then I slide open the drawer and grab my blade. It has been a few days since the last time I cut, and the urge is eating me alive.
As soon as I press the blade to my skin, I hear a voice.
"Stop!," it says. I look around for the person belonging to the voice, but I see nothing. Then I feel a tap on my shoulder followed by a , "Behind you silly."
I look behind me to see my-what I thought was dead-friend Mackenzie.
"M-mackenzie?" I ask, dropping the blade and embracing my friend in a tight hug. I burst into tears and huddle myself in a ball.
"Are you okay?," she asks, crouching down next to me.
"I-I thought you were dead!" I scream, bawling into my hands.
"I am dead," she says.
"Then w-why are you h-here!" I ask.
"I was sent to protect you," she explains.
I slowly look up at her, removing my head from my hands.
"What?" I ask.
"I am your guardian angel. You are beginning to follow the same path I did, with all of the bullying and harassment. I am here to prevent you from making the same stupid mistake I did," she says.
"Which was kil-," I begin, but she cuts me off my touching her finger to my lips.
"Yes, Brynn," she says.
"How do I know y-you're not kidding?" I ask.
"Explain me in this ridiculous white cloak. And how would my hair be this perfect if I weren't straight from Heaven?" she laughs.
"Okay, you got me," I laugh.
"Now," she says, picking the blade up off the ground and flushing it down the toilet , "Do not hurt yourself. You are worth it, Brynn. Don't let Maddie, Kalani, and Chloe get to you. Don't let the voices get to you."
And just like that, the brunette vanishes into thin air.
