It happens with no warning signs.
With great enthusiasm, I begin what is going to be the biggest blockbuster romance of all time! There's a great idea in my head that should practically write itself. However, after a few chapters the words stop flowing. There appears to be nothing else to say, nowhere else to go.
An incurable mind blank hits me and won't go away.
There's ten 'update please' messages in my comments that I can ignore any longer. Many romance readers prefer to binge read the entire story. Only having three chapters posted puts mine at a disadvantage among all the completed stories. It's getting less and less activity.
I'm so frustrated that I'm tempted to delete it.
Wait! A car chase, gratuitous sex scene and an evil ex fill up chapter four. But what about five onwards?
Sometimes reading back over my story or working on another one for a while creates a chink of inspiration. But not always! Writer's block can hit again and again.
