Daryl's P.O.V.

"You see that?" I ask out loud, noticing smoke emitting into the air. We've been on the road for over an hour and Clint is still clutching the wheel with white knuckles. "That can't be good." I add on as I see Clint tense further as he sits up in the drivers seat.

"Could they be retaliating?" Rosita asks, referring to the camp we just came from.

Clint shakes his head "ain't no one dumb enough to do that. This is an outside attack." He turns his head slightly and eyes me and Rosita. Suddenly the car jerks to a stop, the breaks squealing and he pulls a gun out from his waistband "you have people follow you out?" He asks.

"Yew shittin' me?" I spit back keeping a straight face.

"How bout you?" He points it to Rosita now, waiting for her response.

She shakes her head "we were careful. No one knew a thing. They probably don't even know we all got out together." She rattles on "after the wall went down they are probably still cleaning the mess, think were all dead." She lies well to him.

He keeps his eyes squinted while staring at us. I know I need to convince him further "if Rick was to come and attack and we were in on it, ya think we'd volunteer ourselves to head to another compound witch yew?" I push as he keeps his eyes focused on me "that's stupid. Ya'll have numbers like no other, even he's not dumb enough to start a war."

He ponders what I'm saying and lowers the gun back into his pants "well let's get back and see who the dumb shits are." The truck pulls forward once again as he slowly releases his foot off the break.

Shannon's P.O.V.

"What the?" I ask in a panic as we come to an open field. Every car and truck has a flat tire. "Are you shittin' me? Who would do this?" I question out loud coming to the middle of the field.

"Giver?" I hear Cookie say the name that Clint was calling my old friend.

I instantly grab the gun from my pants and lift it up ahead of me. He slowly walks out from behind a car with his hands up "I'm here to help." He says out for us to hear "but we need to move now. They will be coming here soon and we should be far away."

"Bull!" I spit back "you're not hear to help anyone but yourself!"

"What are you doing out here? Why would you do this?" Cookie asks him, her voice shaking. "Petra, we'll never make it out now. We should go back while we can! they'll never know!" She pleads out of fear.

"I'm getting out as well, I have a car. Come with me." Joey tells us all, his eyes barely averting from my stare down.

Petra asks "how can we believe you?"

"you can't!" I shout out so he can hear very clear what I'm about to say "he's just as bad as all the men inside those walls, he's lived beside you all this time, he's the reason I was given up to your leader, he's behind my death sentence."

He shakes his head "Shay, please.."

"Don't say my name, don't you dare try to talk to me like we're fuckin' friends, like we ever were!" I interrupt him from continuing.

"Cookie, we can't go back? It's too risky. We need to go on" Petra looks over to the frail women.

"Do we go with him? Can we trust him?" She asks her girlfriend.

"We really don't have any other choice." Petra says back looking now from him to me "you have a gun, we have weapons, if he tries anything, we'll be ready." Her voice is low, trying to make sure Joey doesn't hear what she's saying.

I shake my head "I'm not going anywhere with him. You two go right ahead, I'll take my chances in the woods!"

"I'm with your people Shay. That's why I'm still here, to get you home." Joey tells me.

I don't believe him "don't patronize me, they wouldn't send you to get me, they'd send someone else, someone I trust."

"It had to be me. Lisa," he looks behind him a little at the car he was hiding behind and I just notice a women's head in the front seat "I needed to get her out. I went back to Alexandria and told them what was going to happen to you and.."

I stop him from going on "Stop! I don't believe you!" I yell loudly, the woods echoing my voice back to me. As if on cue, a few walkers begin to stumble out of the woods and into the clearing. Petra and cookie move to take out the closest ones but I keep my gun trained on Joey. My heart racing inside my chest, wanting to pull the trigger, wanting to get revenge for what he did to me.

"I'm leaving now, we've spent too much time here. I'm going back to Alexandria. You can take your chances in the woods or make it with us." I go to say something back to him but he stops me "before you disagree, Spencer has a message for you." I wait for him to tell me the so called message but instead he slowly lowers one hand to his front pocket. He takes out a folded piece of paper and moves slowly to lower it on the hood of the car. "I'll be in the car, after reading this note, you can decide. But then we are leaving." He says.

I shake as he moves to the drivers seat, my finger resting against the trigger. "I'm sorry Shay, we are going with him. It's our only chance." Petra tells me as they walk together to the car. They get in the back of the car and I see them all exchange words. Without even realizing it I find myself next to the car, my hand reaching for the folded piece of paper. With my right hand still pointed at Joey through the window I work to unfold it. I look at it, confused, the handwriting of Deanna all over the page. I shake my head not understanding, what message did he want to give me with this? I try to process it, worry that Joey killed him, and the others when I flip it over in my hand. There, on the back of the page I see a small note scribbled on the middle of the page. It reads "come home and don't forget the teacups! -Spencer" I smile, remembering the game of madlibs we played. I quickly remember the situation I'm in though and it fades as quickly as it came. I look back up to the car and Joey turns the key in the ignition. I sigh, not believing what I'm about to do. I walk around the car and get in behind the driver side seat. "You try anything, just one thing, I'll put a bullet through your skull." I mutter under my breath as I rest the end of the gun against the head rest. Joey nods at my words and reverses the car quickly out of the field.
