Shannon's P.O.V.

"She really needs to rest." I hear Spencer tell whoever is at his door. I walk behind him and see Rick. He looks directly to me and I put my right hand on Spencer's back.

"Let him in, I'm not gonna be able to get any rest right now anyway." I tell him.

He gives me a sideways glance, holding my eyes for a few seconds but reluctantly agrees and lets Rick through the door. We all go into the living room. I sit on the couch and Spencer puts himself next to me. Rick walks over to the window and stares out for a bit before saying "Shannon, we knew Daryl and Rosita were planning something with Clint."

"You knew?" I ask confused.

He turns to face us now "yes, Daryl came to me after going out on a run with him. He put together a plan, one to get rid of him once and for all." I think he wants me to say something but I don't know what to say. He eventually keeps explaining "we wanted to make sure there was no one else in on it, that way, when we took them out, that would be the end of it. Clint jumped the gun though, ignored the so called plan and got to you early."

"Got to me early?" I question.

Rick shakes his head just a bit "Clint thought Rosita and Daryl were gonna find him a virgin, someone to bring back to his camp as an offering to join. We were going to ambush them at the meeting point."

This time I shake my head "why didn't anyone tell me?!" I try to stop my voice from raising. "I could've helped, I could.."

Rick stops me "we couldn't risk you saying something if they questioned you."

"So you let me believe they betrayed us, let them take me to their compound! What if it didn't work out? What if they got to me first? What if.." I don't want to say it but slowly do "what if they killed me first?"

"Well that's why Daryl and Rosita were there." He returns.

"But they left! And when the leader came, they weren't there!" I inform him. He nods his head as if he understands everything, like he was there to witness it. "You didn't have eyes on me behind those walls! I was on my own."

"It was our only shot. Clint took you before the plan could work. It was either go in blazing, hoping we'd all get out alive or let Daryl work this out."

"Well, it worked out alright. It's his dad running that show." I throw my hands up.

Rick steps closer to me now "yes, you said that. How do you know this?" He asks.

"Well, they like to record their conversations as well it appears. Guess when he got to that so called home he popped ours in and saw good ole Daryl boy starin back at him." I roll my eyes trying to keep the emotion out of my tone.

"And he told you that was his son?" Rick asks. I nod back assuring him that he did. Rick sighs lowly with a shake of his head, his fingers scratching at his scruff "you should talk to him."

I think about it, not really sure what I would even say to him. He may have been doing it all to help me but I can't just forgive him. He lied to me, he played me, and I feel so stupid. I know I'd be lying to myself if hearing that he went undercover to help me didn't resurface my emotions for him, because it did. He put himself at risk to try and help me, but dammit I'm so furious that he didn't tell me. "I.. I don't know." I stammer out.

Rick walks over to the couch, and takes a seat on the other side of me "give us a moment?" He asks Spencer.

Spencer eyes me, to make sure I'm okay with him leaving and I curtly nod back "I'll be in the kitchen if you need me." He says sweetly before leaving.
