Daryl's P.O.V.
"How long were you with your previous group for?" Kyle asks as he leans against a wall. He told me to have a seat but I didn't. I didn't feel comfortable doing that in Alexandria and I don't feel comfortable doing it here. He also has a camera recording me, only he didn't ask if it was okay like Deanna done.
I shrug, already knowing the lie Rosita and I put together with Rick "about 6 months."
"That's a long time to be with a group, where were you before that?" He asks.
I shrug again, rambling off "out on my own. Don't like people much." I tell him, which is as honest as I'll be with him.
He smirks "I can see that. So, why go in there? Why come here?"
"Cause of safety in numbers. I came across this group livin in the woods, they tried to kill me. In a group, i'd have had a better chance of survival." I tell him.
"You seemed to do just fine" he comments back, eyeing me suspiciously.
I nod "ya but my brother didn't, he lost a hand." I don't hesitate in saying.
His eyes widen just a bit and he nods "sorry to hear that."
"Well after that I scouted out Alexandria, see if it was a safe place to be. Seemed enough from the outside."
"But now you're here." His comment interrupts me. I stand silently staring back at him, waiting for him to ask another dumb question "and why is that?" He finally asks.
I sigh out annoyed "cause I listened to what he was sayin', bunch of kumbaya bullshit." I sum up my fake opinion.
Keep it short, Keep it simple, that's what Rick told me to do it if I was going through with this plan. I had to, there was no other way. While Clint and I were on the run we stayed out that night, found an old bar and had a few drinks. I led him to believe I was more drunk than I was, not hard to fake a swig of something and toss it over your shoulder when he's downing whiskey from the bottle. "I came from a camp better then the joint we're goin back too." He slid out through a drink.
"then why you here if it's so great? I mumble back to him.
He wipes his mouth "you won't get it." I go to protest but he continues on "I'm tryna get back there, just lookin' for somethin' first."
"whatcha lookin' for?" I ask him, and that's when he spilled everything.
"Let's get ya something to eat and I'll talk with you're friend." He tells me now, ending the recording.
"I'm fine." I tell him. I just want to get on the road and finish this so I can get Shannon back to Alexandria.
Shannon's P.O.V
Someone brings me food after sunrise the next morning. Seems like apple sauce and a kind of bread. Although I don't want to accept anything they give me, I'm starving and scarf it down. It fills my stomach for now and I keep myself seated on the floor. When the door opens again to the stalls I hear shuffling all around me as girls wait to be taken somewhere else, probably somewhere worse. It's my own stall door that opens and a man I've never seen before steps in "forgive us for the chains, you understand." He smirks a little while stepping closer with a key in his hand.
"Of course, wouldn't want your bait running off" I roll my eyes with a growl.
He shakes his head "I'm going to unchain you, and we're going to go for a walk somewhere together. Can you do that without any trouble?" He asks me. His tone puts me on edge because it's not like anyone here to give a damn about anyone else.
"Sure" I tell him eyeing the gun at his waist.
He knows exactly where my gaze is "that'd be stupid. You'd be dead before hitting the fence."
"Maybe that's what I want." I reply back.
His head shakes "we'll see," he mumbles back. He leans down and releases the lock. I stay firm where I am standing and wait for him to lead the way. He has a point though, I don't want to die, not just yet. I have to try and find a way out first, and only if that fails will I try to end it. I don't know how long until the boss gets back so I have to think and plan fast and I give myself 2 days before going to plan B. He brings me to a house, suggesting to a chair at the head of a table "please sit."
I do so, eyeing the camera and think to myself how familiar it is "why am I here?" I question.
"I have a few questions for you." He simply says back.
"Shoot" I respond.
He sits at the other end of the long table where the camera is. "How'd you get to Alexandria?" He asks first.
"Brought back there unwillingly after some of them found me stuck in a tree." I tell him honestly.
"Who found you?" He asks. "How long where you there for?" It's a question I've been worried they would ask me. Part of me wants to tell them the truth, that I've been there for months and not days as Clint thinks. Unless Daryl didn't tell them the truth, then it doesn't matter what I say. But if he didn't and I tell them, they could kill him before I get to talk to him, before I can tell him how much I hate him.
"Daryl.." I feel my stomach twist when I say his name "and I got separated. He brought me back."
"So you knew him first? You trusted him?" He asks putting a hand on my chin.
I snort "yah, I did."
"I see. And what can you tell me about Rosita?" He asks next.
My head shakes a bit "never knew too much about her. Only there a few days" I decide to go with the lie for now. "Heard she was ex-military or something. Thought she was one of the good guys."
"And Clint mentioned another male, one you were suppose to be staying with?" He eyes me.
Spencer, I think to myself. I shake my head with anger "he's got nothing to do with this." I swallow hard.
His head cocks to the side a little "probably not, but we have to know if you're still a virgin or not."
I puff out a laugh "oh, please. Like you'll take my word for it."
"You know, since you left Clint on the road to die, a lot has changed here. I've been in charge while the boss is away, I've taken over Clint's roll and I'm a lot nicer than he is. Why don't you just answer my questions and find out."
"I'm still a virgin" I grit through clutched teeth.
"See, that wasn't so bad now was it?" He smiles back to me before turning the camera off.
I stay seated as he walks over to me "where to now, boss?" I roll my eyes.
He puts his hand on the edge of the chair, how close he actually is to me makes me jump a little. I close my eyes and breathe out my nose slowly "relax, we're just gonna head back to the stall now."
