"Did you do that?" he asks me the second I let the book fall onto my stomach, cover up, and my headphones are pulled down around my neck. I look behind him to see the two twins that, in my opinion, could be Abercrombie models.
"No, Peter Pan did," I repond flatly. He rolls his eyes and keeps a safe distance away from me. Go figures, he has to be my roommate. Also, now my roommate is already weirded out by how freaky I am.
"How?"
"I got angry. You're lucky you weren't hit by a lightning." The three of them chuckle, but I'm being completely serious. He really was lucky, it nearly happened to this girl once. That was a rough day to say the least...
"So trees just grow when you're angry?" Sam asks me sarcastically.
"I have no idea." I shrug, not really interested in having this conversation right now.
"Wait, you don't know...? But you just made a tree grow, obviously you know when you make a tree magically appear," Benjamin says dumbly.
"Uhm... It kind of just happens. You know what, you're probably just talking about this to prove that I'm crazy or something, so I'd rather not have this conversation," I speak up when I see their amused expressions. When they crack up laughing, I roll my eyes and turn my attention back to my music and reading.
I slap their hands away when they try to either take my book, headphones, or iPod. Even when they just try to touch me in any way. I wish they'd just leave me alone. There's literally nothing I'd want more in this very moment.
Eventually, they mention something about dinner before they leave the room. I check my alarm on the nightstand only to see that it's already 6 pm now. Grabbing the map, I take a picture of it to keep it on my phone. Leaving the map in my room, I follow the picture on my phone until I finally find my way. My nose also really helps in in this search because it smells quite amazing.
The dining hall consists of five long tables. Each of the tables are occupied with some groups of kids, but the ends closest to the doors are mostly empty. All the tables are filled with food like the tables in Harry Potter, so I just head over to a table that holds the least amount of people on it. Sitting down at the end of that table, I feel quite contempt.
It doesn't take me long until I find the "popular" table. It's the people talking and laughing the loudest in the whole damn room. Honestly, it seems quite fake, as if they're just doing it in order to grab people's attention so they're literally the center of attention.
Benjamin, Sam, and Bradley are all there along with two blonde girls that are definitely twins, and also a dark-haired girl. The dark-haired girl is clinging to Bradley's arm, so I guess that's Laila. They're also accompanied by a blonde boy that seems to have greyish eyes, and a last guy with nearly black hair and some mixed grey and brown eyes.
I look back down to the food and am about to dish something that looks alright onto my place when another brunette guy sits down opposite me.
"It's horrible. You should try to avoid that if you don't want to sleep with a ceramic pillow in the bathroom tonight," he says, speaking about the food I was going to grab. I leave it right away and take some lasagne instead. "I'm Liam, by the way."
"Lavanya," I respond and dig in because I'm starving. We sit in silence for a while. That's until a very obnoxious and high-pitches voice speaks up behind me.
