She never told him
but she would keep a Polaroid
of him in her wallet.

Whenever she was upset,
stressed out or
moody,
she would secretly slip
the photo out of her wallet
and look at his face.

Unconsciously,
one day after work,
as she ran her fingers through
her hair,
her other hand reached into
her wallet and pulled out
the photo.

Only after staring at for a few
moments before she realised,

they weren't together anymore.

Sighing,
she slipped it back into
the wallet
and kept it in the slot,
at the very back.

Guess some things are just
meant to be kept.
