Lost In Your Eyes

The environment she was in was something she hadn't experienced before in her whole life; it was warm and comfortable. Although she had no idea where she was, it felt homely. In the center of the room, an open fire was crackling away in a fireplace and she was lying in an unknown bed with blankets. She was wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants that were a few sizes too big so assumed they weren't hers. She looked over and saw her clothes drying out by the fire.

While scanning the unfamiliar room, she heard a knock at the door and turned her head sharply to see it open and remembered what had happened last night when she saw his face.

"You're up, I hope you slept well,"

"Yeah, thank you so much. You saved my life and gave me a place to stay,"

"It's nothing," he handed her a tray of pancakes and sat next to her.

In a matter of minutes, she ate the pancakes and drank the coffee. She couldn't remember the last time she'd had good food and coffee.

"Hey, so I've gotta go to work but I'll be back later so feel free to make yourself at home. The shower's just down the hall," he kissed her cheek before leaving the room and then the front door shut seconds after, leaving her blushing.

Wait! Does she like him? She thought that he was cute and hot and kind and he saved her life so...

But why would someone like him fall for her? Well, at least she could have her own private dreams and fantasies. She wandered towards the bathroom and jumped in the shower. But she couldn't stop thinking about him...

______________

Hours past and a weary Caitlin was napping on the couch when the front door opened. Her now beautifully clean hair had fallen over her eyes and was feathering down the side of the couch and some of it was trailing down her back into her curled up frame.

As he walked in, Barry couldn't help but stare at her beauty. He loved how adorably she slept and how she wrinkled her nose as she did so and her auburn curls flowed down her body. But behind those hazel eyes was pain and sadness which was unrecognizable while she slept so innocently. It was almost impossible to believe that only the previous night she wanted to end her life when it seemed that she had so much to live for.

Noticing her stirring, he forced himself to look away. No matter how he felt about her, he couldn't take advantage of her weak state, it's not like she would feel the same way.

"Hey," she greeted groggily lifting her head to reveal her tired eyes and smiled for the first time in a long time.

Once again, he completely lost his voice after seeing her beautiful eyes and even more now that she was smiling. God, that smile. It was as if the whole world was stopping to stare at it. From this second onward, Barry promised himself he would make sure that she smiled more often because it just made the whole universe brighter.

"I got food and a movie," he eventually replied.

When the credits rolled, she was sound asleep and looking as adorable as ever. Watching her peaceful sleep, Barry moved the hair from her eyes and just took in the view. Every time he looked at her she seemed more and more beautiful and couldn't stop the developing feelings he had for the troubled young woman. But he had to keep reminding himself that he couldn't take advantage of her.

Just like the previous night, he picked her up bridal style and tucked her into bed. Just as he was leaving the room she woke.

"Hey, this is your room,"

"You need it more than I do," Barry replied, sitting next to her.

"You're too kind to me. I don't deserve..." she was interrupted.

"Yes, you do. You're definitely worth it,"

"Fine then we can both sleep in the same bed," she giggled.

"You're-you're serious,"

"Yes, you dummy," she laughed.

Her laugh was infectious, not to mention sexy. Well, at least to Barry.

After ten minutes, both of their heartbeats were beating way too fast for their wellbeing.

"Have you considered talking to someone?"

"I don't need a therapist. You're the only therapist I need," she replied, making both of their hearts miss a beat from her words. It seemed that the small amount of wine she had drank, only one glass, had gone to her head. To be fair she probably hadn't drunk in a long time. But it didn't bother Barry one bit, actually he found it quite cute.

After a while, they drifted of to sleep, with only each other stuck in their minds...
