It had been about a week and the attraction between them had only grown but neither shared their feelings which were growing to be very strong. They would talk or watch Netflix or a movie together and they cherished the time they spent together. Mostly because they didn't know how long it would last. Tonight they were just talking and found themselves wanting to stay like that forever.
"Tell me about your childhood," Caitlin requested happily, Barry didn't talk about it much and to be fair neither did she.
"My Mom died when I was eleven. So it was just me and my dad most of my life. I still miss her but life goes on I guess. That's why I was there, last week. I couldn't sleep so I just went walking and I found you and saved you,"
"I'm sorry about your Mom. Hey, I just had an idea: it's Saturday tomorrow so let's get really drunk and forget about all of our problems."
Half An Hour Later
"Ya know, we should do this more often!" Caitlin slurred.
"Your really pretty, Cait,"
"Don't say that, it's not true!"
"It is!"
"If you think I'm pretty then you won't mind if I do this," she leaned in to kiss him which she would only do in her drunken state. And because of his deep feelings for her, Barry kissed her back even though he had promised himself not to take advantage of her, even if he wanted her more than anyone ever before.
Drunk, the two of them were soon making out. Maybe it would've led on to much more but Barry came to his senses and pulled away before anything else could happen. As much as he wanted this, God he wanted this, she was drunk and vulnerable right now, not to mention her depression, he couldn't take advantage of her in this state. It was wrong.
"What's wrong?" she asked worriedly, did she do something wrong?
"We shouldn't, we're both drunk and I can't take advantage of you,"
"I understand," she replied sadly.
"No, no, no, I do like you, a lot but..."
"I like you too and I want to be with you,"
"Really?"
"Yes, I'm ready for this so don't think I'm not. If you want we can take it slow, I just want to be with you," the words made both of their hearts beat faster and their breath catch. Looking into the eyes they knew they were starting to fall for, they realized that this was their chance to share their feelings. And they never wanted to let go.
"Then, will you be my girlfriend?"
"Yes, I will,"
Leaning in to kiss each other again, they closed their eyes and enjoyed their first real kiss together. It was something they'd never forget despite their drunken state. It wasn't hungry or erotic just sweet and romantic but still passionate.
Three words begged to roll down their tongues but didn't in fear of being too soon. However, that was okay as they were together now and they weren't planning on ever letting each other go...
