Rose was anxious
To say that she was anxious would be an understatement. Her dark brown eyes gazed around the bleak toffee colored room as she waited for her mother to inform her on the radio stations chose on whether or not to play her music. She crossed and uncrossed her legs in anticipation as she stared blankly at the double doors exactly opposite from her. Just as she felt the anxiety was about to consume her, her mother burst through the doors. "Guess what?" Her mother singsonged as she made her way out of the door. "Did I get it?!" Rose exclaimed jumping straight out of the chair. "You got it!" Screamed her mother in sheer excitement as she scooped Rose tightly into her arms. A sigh of relief left Rose's mouth as she pulled her mother closer towards her, this was a dream come for the both of them. Between Rose's struggling career and the mounting bills that loomed over them like a dark cloud, this radio station deal was sweet relief.
As they walked outside out of the large building into the heat of California, Rose turned to her mother with a questioning glance "Mom what's the station called?" Her mother took a long pause in a period of concentration before answering "I think it's called Rush Hour Renegade" Rose furrowed her eyebrows as they continued their walk through the brisk San Francisco air "Who runs it?" Her mother shrugged her shoulders in a nonchalant manner "I don't know but we're going to find out today, you have your radio interview in two hours." Rose stopped dead in her tracks while her mother continued her walk "So when were you going to tell me this?" "When you asked where we were going." Her mother teased as she quickly took Rose by the hand as they made their way through the winding streets.
Jesse was annoyed
Not only was he being left alone to handle the station today but his boss just informed him of the interview that would commence in less than 30 minutes. He heaved a great sigh as he ever so often gazed at the door beside him in anticipation of the artist he still has yet to meet. The station was on commercial break as of now and the boredom was slowly starting to creep through into his mind. He absentmindedly drummed his fingers along the table as his thoughts wondered again to who this mystery artist may be. "Mr. Katsopolis?" Asked the female receptionist as she quietly walked through the door. "Yes?" Questioned Jesse as he turned his attention to her. "The artist scheduled for the interview is here to see you know." Said the lady as she left the room and ushered in who Jesse assumed was the artist.Jesse's mouth ran dry as soon as he set eyes on the woman. Her dark curly hair framed her face nicely and her deep brown skin seemed to glow from the light beams entering the room. Her eyes crinkled as she gave Jessie a slight smile before completely entering the room. "Have Mercy." Jesse muttered as he still continued to stare at the girl as she sat in the chair beside him.
"Hi my name is Rose." Rose grinned as she held out her hand for Jesse to shake. Jesse who was still frozen in the position of staring at her finally came back to Earth "Hi my name is Jesse." He shook Rose's hand and placed a soft kiss upon it."It's very nice to meet you Rose." Rose. Her name suited her exquisite looks, in all honesty Rose's beauty transcended anything he had seen before and seemed almost ...ethereal.
Rose was anxious... Again
The handsome man sitting right in front of her was making her stomach tighten into knots. His chiseled features were reminiscent of a Greek God in her eyes. As much as she admired his incredibly attractive features that's when she realized that's all this interaction between them will ever be. A fleeting attraction that had no basis, something that would be forgotten by both of them in an instant. Rose just couldn't bring herself to be completely interested in him, until she learned a bit more about him, in depth." Ok, are you ready?" Jesse stated as Rose brought her head out of the clouds and nodded . "Ok we're on in 3,2,1!"Jesse exclaimed as he took the station off of commercial and shouted into the microphone "You're rocking with Jesse Katsopolis on the Rush Hour Renegades and I have a special someone to introduce to ya today." As Jesse finished that sentence he turned to Rose with a wink who returned with a very flustered look and straightened herself in the chair. "We have a special guest today who goes by the name Rose, an up and coming artist who's ripping up the charts." Jesse stated as he now focused his attention on getting all of the information into the mic. "So Rose, how did you get involved with music?"Jesse questioned as he then turned back towards her and placed his head in his hands in sincere curiosity.
Rose hesitated for a second before speaking into her mic "Well Jesse, when I was younger I never really liked music, I was more of a visual arts girl but after the passing of my father , I wanted to keep his memory and love of music alive by fulfilling one of his biggest dreams of become a star." "Wow." Jesse said in a astonishment "I'm sorry for your loss." He continued. "Don't worry about it." Rose stated as her eyes slightly burned with tears she held back at the mention of her late father. "Well I have another question for you Miss Rose." Jesse said as he looked her in her eyes "What would you describe your style of music as." Rose let out a breath she didn't know she held in at the intensity of his gaze, she began to ponder the question. Jessie couldn't help but admire her as she twisted a strand of her curly hair as she concentrated on answering the question. "Well I don't really like to confine myself into one genre but I'm an experimental RnB artist if that makes sense." Jesse quirked an eyebrow as he leaned closer. "Can you elaborate on that babe?" Rose blushed and moved a bit further from him. "Well I'm a RnB artist but in some of my songs I may have rock, reggae, hip-hop or jazz segments in my music." "Interesting." Jesse smiled
After a couple more questions from Jesse, the interview was over and so was the show. "Bye Jesse!" Rose waved as she began to make her way out the door. ""Wait, hold on!" Jesse shouted as he quickly jumped up walked to where he was face to face with Rose. The tension was getting thicker by the minute as Rose and Jesse just took a minute to examine each other. "Let's go out to eat sometime." Jessie smiled exposing the deep dimple in his left cheek. Rose gripped her bag tighter as she furrowed he eyebrows at him. "I don't even know you though, you can be a crazy psycho who somehow got a job at a radio station for all I know." Jesse chuckled as he placed one hand behind her head and said in his best Elvis impression "Babe I promise you I'm not a psycho, so how about you me and a date lil mama?" Rose scoffed as she pushed him away and sneered "In your dreams mousse head, next time if you want a date you gotta come correct." Rose walked to the door again and just as she turned around she noticed Jesse was watching her walk away. " And by the way babe." She said. "I hate Elvis" as she walked back in the corridor she heard the audible gasp from Jesse followed by a "How dare she disrespect the king of rock and roll?"
Rose back into the seating area to see her mother fast asleep with a magazine in her lap. "Ma! The interview is over we can go now." Her mother wiped her eyes as she got up from her chair and they made their way out of the building. "So how did it go?" Her mother asked as Rose began to think of Jesse's amazing looks and his big ego. She pushed her tongue in her cheek to prevent from smiling "It was really good actually but the interviewer himself can choke."
