"Hi, welcome at Jamba Juice. How can I help you?"

I had repeated the damn line at least 50 times already and my cheeks hurt from smiling all morning. It was literally dead here whenever I came to get some juice and now the whole campus' tryna be here.

But on another note, my new co-workers are really nice. It's cute cashier boy Mark and a girl named Isis. She's a sophomore majoring in Art History. I nearly cried of happiness when she came up to me to introduce herself and I saw her beautiful radiant brown skin and big hair. She showed me how to work the machines and taught me how everything else I needed to know.

Mark is bit shy, but such a sweetheart. Whenever I had a hard time he was always the first to notice it and help me. After my shift was over, Isis and I exchanged numbers. (Because how rare is it to find any black girls around here?) I like her, she cracked a lot of jokes and we just talked and vibed well.

When I get back to the dorms Camilla is frantically running around in my living room, trying to do all kinds of things at once. She wore a robe and her hair was pinned up and sectioned, as if she were to straighten or curl it. Being that Alessa is at the mall right now, we had to set up everything for her birthday while she's gone.

Yesterday, she walked in on me while I was excessively cleaning our apartment. Thankfully, instead of questioning it she just dismissed it with a light joke, referring to me being a neatfreak and my habits. Ya girl was offended, but it was convenient at the moment.

"What're you looking for?" I ask casually, dropping my bag into the couch before lazily shaking my denim jacket off my shoulders.

"Those glittery balloons, I forgot where I put them." She mumbles, just loud enough over the sound of moving plastic bags. Beneath a sea of party poppers and snacks I finally retrieve the packet of balloons, in a secluded plastic bag that rested on the loveseat. "Found them."

"Thanks girl. We have to gather all the decorations together and put them somewhere. Hakeem, Imani and Johnny are coming over to decorate and stuff."

I know Hakeem and Johnny by name, and I know that they are really good friends of Alessa but I've only seen them around once or twice. Imani will be here as well, she's one of my girls.

Exactly when I decide to get my lazy fat ass off the couch my phone vibrates in my pocket, so I sit up and wiggle it out of my back pocket.

JB: Hi. Wanna grab some Chia today? My treat."

Damn. I'd love a cherry sweet tea right now, not gonna lie. I also want to see him. But I can't. Cam and I are taking Alessa out for birthday lunch in a couple hours and there's still things that need to be done.
