"Yeah – okay, but did you guys kiss?" Alessa clipped in, impatiently placing her hand at her hip.

"Girl, let me finish the story!"

"I'm deeply sorry, ma'am. Please do continue."

I halfheartedly rolled my eyes, "Thank you. So we're sitting there and we uh – get caught by a guard. But I guess he was about to? I think."

"You think?"

"Yeah?" I replied dumbly, trying to recall the exact moment. ''A guard came by to check our IDs.'' It was late at night, and the showcase had ended long ago, it was only natural that he checked to make sure visitors were off campus grounds.

After checking our IDs, and staring into my face for an unnecessarily long time to make sure it was really me in the picture, he primly told us to 'wrap it up' and go back inside. He tripped over his feet when he tried to make his exit though. Really smooth.

Jaebum cackled sneakily, and I was quick to follow. "I think he heard us."

"Oh well."

We laughed a bit more, and I was pretty sure Jaebum's laugh could lighten any mood ever.

It was dark and oddly quiet for a Friday night, though. The uv lights created white, dusty vibrance along the grass path we walked. In my peripheral I saw him push his hair back again, long fingers raking through his bouncy hair.

I turned my head a bit, you know, just so I could steal a litttle glance under my eyelashes.

His head tilted cutely, accompanied by a small questioning smile on his rosy lips.

"Something wrong?"

I opened my mouth dumbly. Say something. Anything.

Nothing came, so I went with sheepishly shaking my head. "I'm okay."

I wasn't too sure if he bought it.

"Hey, you have track try-outs pretty soon, right?"

My eyebrows perked up, "You know?"

"Yeah." he chuckled, "I know there's this prejudice that art majors live in their own bubble and never venture outside of it, but I like paying attention to my surroundings, you know."

I eyed him, eyebrow only raising further. "Surroundings meaning me?"

"In this very particular situation, yes." He replies, grin impish, but ears blooming a very soft pink.

I decided to go with it, for his sake.  Since I was positive it wouldn't take much more of his flirting before I would possibly go into cardiac arrest. And that would be humiliating.

"Well, yeah. Next month. I foresee a very hectic month with many near-death experiences."

"Is it that bad?"

"I don't know, honestly. That's what everybody's making it seem like. Like it's the Hunger Games or something. I'm starting to feel the pressure kick in."

"Well. Not to freak you out, but it did slightly resemble the Hunger Games last year,"

I squinted my eyes at him, "Thank you. Really. I needed that."
