come in

there was always a little part of me

the lingering end of an unfinished story

and i suppose that was where you came in

my chapters were always unfinished,

because my spark would soon diminish,

and that was where you came in.

you helped me sew up the question marks

that make up large amounts of my heart

and that seemed to quiet the din

but soon you knocked on the golden door

and i was left on the bottom floor

and that is where darkness begins.

the monster came out from under the bed

when you left to rest your weary head

and now i am stained with sin

this devil in me was here underneath

although you had kept him between your teeth

now he is back here within

i tried to climb the marble steps

but of course with the terrors i've kept

i was not allowed to come in

now you are the stardust

i hope you see i'm trying my hardest

please let me come in
