19 - sick

"alright kids, place your bags in the trunk!" jackson yelled at his friends, sounding like a dad.

"okay dad." yugyeom said

"one two three f-" he began counting heads and noticed that youngjae is missing.

"okay, where the hell is youngjae?"

"in my heart." mark answered which earned him a glare from everyone. "i'll call him." jackson stated and dialed youngjae's number.

youngjae immediately answered the phone.

"hello youngjae? where the fuc- oh, okay... are you alrig- yes yes they are here... okay, we'll wait for you." jackson hung up his phone.

"he said he's on the way, he bought medicines." jackson stated and jaebum immediately asked worried. "why? what happened? is he alright?"

"calm down boi, he catched a cold."

jaebum was relieved after hearing jackson. few minutes passed and youngjae finally arrived. youngjae was wearing a plain white tee and a black skinny jeans. 

"sorry im late." he said and jaebum helped him to carry his bag. mark just rolled his eyes when he saw the two.

"are we alright now?" jackson asked and all of them nodded.

"wait. don't tell me you'll be the one who's driving?" youngjae asked jackson and his best friend just gave him a huge smile.

"put your seatbelts on kids."

youngjae was sitting in between jaebum and mark and things couldn't be more uncomfortable for him. on their way there, each of them is doing something. yugyeom was alone in the back seat. namjoon couldn't come for some reason.

"are you feeling better now?" jaebum asked youngjae, placing his hand on the younger's forehead, youngjae hummed. 

"see jaebum, you're not treating youngjae right that's why he catch a cold." mark half jokingly said and youngjae gave him the look. "oh, i'm sorry mark, i didn't know that i control things like that." jaebum sarcastically replied. the two continued to fight over the most stupid things and youngjae just couldn't stand it anymore so he got his earphones and played songs. 

the two continued to bother youngjae but eventually stopped when youngjae was not paying attention to them anymore. 

after a semi long trip, they finally reached their destination. the beach was incredibly beautiful, there are rocks near the shore and the sand is white. the water is very clear and all of them couldn't help but admire the scenery of it.

jackson got the keys for the room they'd stay at for the rest of the day. he rented a huge room. jackson & yugyeom and jaebum & mark shared a bunk bed while youngjae got the single bed that is enough for his size.

they spent the morning swimming, because duh, that's what people do in the beach. jaebum and mark forgot for a moment that they extremely hate each other and had so much fun together. jackson almost drowned yugyeom when they were playing in the water which made yugyeom cry and made the rest laugh.

a campfire was set when the evening arrived. during the campfire, they were asked to tell stories about themselves to they could know each other better. everyone was against it but jackson insisted that they do it.

jackson started it and he told a story about how he once got a zero in math class and he went full on rage on his teacher, it made everyone laugh. the rest of them told a story about their childhood, greatest fears, first love, and other things. they had a great time and laughed a lot until yugyeom suggested that they play truth or day.

everything is going according to jackson's plan and expectation. nobody is fighting and all of them are in good mood. that was until yugyeom dared mark to kiss the person he likes the most between them and you guess it, mark kissed youngjae. right in front of everyone, including jaebum. youngjae was taken aback and his mind wasn't able to process what the hell was happening so he just sat there and did nothing. 

jaebum couldn't take the sight of mark kissing youngjae anymore so he had to grab youngjae away from mark. "what the fuck was that?" he said furiously. mark smirked and answered confidently. "what? it was just a dare. don't be a pussy jaebum." 

"i am fucking tired of your shit mark." jaebum said while trying to restrain himself from hitting mark. "i swear to god, ever since you came back it feels like you ruined everything. every fucking thing."

"jaebum, stop it already." youngjae tried to calm jaebum down but jaebum lost his calm already. 

"what? you're on his side?"

"jaebum, i'm not on anyon-" youngjae calmly explained but jaebum yelled at him before he could even finish his sentence. "not on anyone's side? you're obviously on his side youngjae. i don't get you. did you liked that kiss huh? did you enjoyed it?"

"hey... jaebum that's enou-" jackson tried to stop the mess but was shut down by jaebum. "don't join this."

youngjae's patience is on the verge on exploding and still tried to answer jaebum calmly. "jaebum, i don't know what you are talking about. you are overreacting."

jaebum could't believe that youngjae thinks that he's overreacting. to him, his response is damn normal. does youngjae expect him to just let mark kiss him infront of jaebum? at this point, jaebum got angry at youngjae too.

"you know what? fine! go fucking kiss mark. hell, you can even make out with him. do whatever the fuck you want. i am not stopping you anymore. you could also bang him if that's what you want. i don't care anymore."

with that being said, youngjae lost his patience and slapped jaebum. tears are forming on his eyes, he hates crying but what he just heard irritated him so much that he wants to cry. "is that how you see me?" he asked jaebum while his voice cracked. 

jaebum realizing what he just did, immediately felt annoyed and guilty for what he just did. he was going to apologize but youngjae got up from his seat and ran away, jackson followed him and jaebum just sat there frozen.

"you're a fucking idiot." mark said and tried to follow youngjae as well but yugyeom stopped him. "let him be with jackson for while." yugyeom advised.

"youngjae, what are you doing?" jackson said when he finally saw youngjae. "packing, obviously." jackson approached youngjae and stopped him from putting his clothes on the bag. 

"you know that you can't solve things by running away from them." jackson said.

"i'm tired jackson. i'm very tired." youngjae said and began crying. "being stuck in a situation where you are always pressured between defending jaebum or mark is hard. i am tired." jackson hummed and let youngjae cry and said his feelings. "i don't even know why i have to choose."

jackson sighed. "you don't have to choose youngjae."

youngjae continued to sob on jackson's arms and he just kept crying for minutes. it actually made him feel better. once he stopped crying, jackson suggested that youngjae apologized to both jaebum and mark but he refused. jackson understood his best friend.

youngjae eventually fell asleep. sleeping makes everything better after all.
