NYSSA'S POV
The wind whistled as the doors to the justice building swung open. As soon as we stepped into the hallway we were escorted by rippers into a small white room. An interview room. As the door banged shut behind us, I looked over at Kal, who was stood nervously staring out of the window.
"Are you okay Kal?" I asked, stroking his arm gently. He nodded in reply. Stupid question. of course he wasn't. There were only few people Kal cared about. And now they've found one of the only people Kal truly did care about. After three desperate years of searching, going outside of the town boundaries, breaking laws. And now they had found him. Kal's brother.
A ripper burst through the door.
"This way." Was all he said.
KAL'S POV
As we were being led out of the small white room, I dare to glance at Nyssa. She was pale and looked tired, even though she was normally such a pretty girl. She had long brown hair which she braided, and beautiful brown eyes, so often filled with worry. I was wondering how she was dealing with all of this, with them finding my brother after all these years. I can't believe he just abandoned her like that, what with him and Nyssa being so close and all.
That was what I was angry about. How he left her.
Suddenly, we have stopped walking, and one of the Rippers was leading me into the room.
" what's going on?" I ask, confused.
" The Chief wants you to go in first, what with you being family and all." His voice is stern, but j can see that he gives us both an apologetic smile. I give Nyssa a look, and she nods her head as I enter the room.
NYSSA'S POV
As Kal makes his way into the room, I wait nervously outside. I know that Kal will be in there alone with him, and it isn't long before I hear Kal yelling at him. Its muffled because the walls are so thick but I don't try to listen. I just wait patiently and smile as the Ripper gives me a sympathetic nod.
KAL'S POV
As I step into the room I see him sat there. He's looking well for a fugitive. He looks up as the Ripper leaves us to it.
"Kal," he breathes "brother, How have you been?" He asks smirking. He's smirking, I hate it when he smirks.
"Not All that good thanks to you," I say, irritated. "How could you do this to us? No, don't try and say anything you just listen, but that's never been your strong point has it?" I growl at him and he looks at me speechless. He looks shocked. He was always the one who took charge, who got everyone to listen to him, well now its his turn to listen to me, his older brother.
" Kal... I..." he stutters.
"No, no excuses, what the hell was going through your mind when you decided to run? How could you do this to her? To Nyssa? Or have you forgotten about her? You know, she's only the person who has been out searching for you day and night for three years!!" At this point I find myself yelling at him.
He looks down in shame.
"I'm sorry" he mumbles.
"You have a lot of making up to do matey," I say, quieter now. I take one last look at my brother and storm out of the room, still smouldering.
NYSSA'S POV
It was about ten minutes before Kal comes storming out of the room, and I envelope him into a bear hug. We've been doing that a lot lately. Hugging each other. We stay there for about five minutes until the Ripper gives us a small cough. I pull away and Kal gives me a small "good luck" smile. I can read him like a book.
I step into the white room and look around. Then I see him. Sat in a chair behind a white table, hands shackled. He looks up at me with those eyes, those beautiful green eyes, smile playing onto his lips.
"Nyssa" he whispers.
"Ashton..." I breathe...
