Snow Day! Seriously.

Jack Frost?

Nope. Never heard of him. And did he just call me Elsa? The Queen Elsa?

“I know it’s been a while Elsa. Sorry about that. I got hung up with something.” He said and his smirk widened into a smile. He takes a step forward and I step back. I feel frightened now. Who was this guy and why does he keep on calling me Elsa?

The feeling of confusion must have been so clear on my face that his expression changes into a worried one.

“Elsa? Are you okay? What’s wrong?” he takes another step forward. I step back again.

“I…” I tried to say. “I’m not –” “Princess! Princess where are you?”

It happened so fast. He got startled with the voice from inside the castle and with another gust of cold wind he was gone. After I fixed myself I couldn’t see him anymore. When I turned around even the snowman was gone.

Who was that strange boy?

I could see one of the palace staff run towards me.

“Princess Mia! Your parents are about to address the people. You must go, now!” he said.

“Ah…yes, yes.” I said and tried to take my mind off of what had just happened. I ran towards the great hall and got to my parents just in time.

They were already heading for the doors when I joined them.

“Late again Amelia.” My mother, Queen Zara, says with a mischievous smile.

“Sorry mother. I was…caught up with something.” I tell her as I walked beside her.

“Something?” my father, King Eliot, tried to get a glimpse of me as he walked beside mother too.

“What would that something be?” he added, his green eyes sparkles with curiosity.

“It’s not that father.” I tell him and chuckle.

My parents were cool. I mean they are old but they’re not the kind to treat me like some defenceless kid and lock me away in the castle. Though they do advise me to just stay inside, I go out of the palace from time to time. They never really closed the doors anymore after Queen Elsa’s coronation.

Soon we reached the main doors and opened them. More than half of the people of Arendelle were inside the palace walls. Other had to stay and cater to their businesses. We also had guests from neighbouring kingdoms and towns. There were other royalty and city officials who gathered for the big celebration.

“The people of Arendelle, friends, guests, welcome!” my father said through a microphone which was handed to him by one of our palace staff.

“We have gathered here today to celebrate a very momentous day in memory of one of the great rulers of Arendelle, our great ancestor, our beloved Snow Queen Elsa.” He adds.

He then goes on to talk about Queen Elsa’s history and how she became Queen. The struggles she went through, the way how she managed the kingdom in her reign. While he was speaking I tried looking at the crowd, hoping that I see that guy that I met at the garden earlier.

He was very strange. Sure I was afraid but now that I think of it I felt like I knew him somehow. Jack Frost, Jack Frost. I don’t think I have ever heard of his name before. Maybe he’s from a neighbouring town and maybe we met back when we were kids. But why did he call me Elsa?

“…and in the Centennial year that we’ve been celebrating Snow Day my Queen and I would like to make a special announcement.” I had my attention back to what my father was saying after not finding the boy with the white hair in the crowd.
