“Some place you’ve got here.” I said. She let me in the palace. Maybe she trusts me now, maybe she doesn’t. I was just following her as she walked on ahead.
“Tell me, did you build this?” I asked, trying to make conversation. She’s been ignoring my small talks since twenty minutes ago.
“I’m pretty sure no normal human can build this.” I said.
“Yes, I built this.” It was startling to hear her voice again after the silence.
“Amazing.” I figured she was giving the tour but I wasn’t so sure. There were a lot of rooms and halls but I can tell that this palace never really had many visitors.
“So what are you? Are you royalty or something?” I ask.
“Yes. I am the Queen of this kingdom.” I stopped. Queen? Of what? Snowballs? There’s nothing else around here but ice and snow.
“Uhmm…some kingdom you’ve got here. But isn’t it a bit lonely being the Queen of this…uh…kingdom.” I said. I hear her chuckle, which is cute.
“No. Not this kingdom. This is just a castle was made because of…certain situations.” I knew from her voice that there was a story behind this palace, but now’s not the time to ask her.
“Arendelle. It’s a kingdom not too far from here. I figure that’s the place you’re also going to?” she says.
“So its name is Arendelle. What a nice name.” I say. So she’s the queen. She doesn’t look like one, but she does have that feel of royalty.
“What about you Jack? Where did you come from?” she stops and faces me. Where do I come from? I’d like to ask that too.
“Well, I don’t really know. My situation’s a bit complicated you see.” I say and try a smirk. She looked at me with empathetic eyes.
I decide to tell her about me. I can feel she’s a good person and I hope she feels the same way about me.
We continued to walk. I told her about how I just woke up with these powers without really knowing how I got them or where I came from. I told her how no one can really see me, and that she was the first in how many years.
“So you mean to say you’re a Snow Spirit?” she says. We were now walking side by side.
“Hmm…maybe a Winter Spirit. I can summon snow storms, hail storms, and all that, but I don’t think I can make castles like this. You have some gift there.” I tell her.
“Gift?” then she chuckles. “You’re the second one who told me that what I have is a gift.” She says.
I didn’t expect her to tell me, but she narrated her story.
She was born with a curse and the curse was her extraordinary ice powers. The only person to have loved her powers was her younger sister. They used to play in the middle of the night, but one night she accidentally struck her sister on the head which terrified her. They got to these trolls and got them to heal her sister.
She was told, however, that if she doesn’t learn how to control her powers as they get stronger, she’ll be consumed by fear. Afterwards she was isolated with the world. She rarely went out, she didn’t get to see her younger sister that often. It wasn’t like she was forced to. She volunteered to be shut out from them world. I was touched on how much she loved her sister that she was willing to sacrifice her own welfare for her.
I think I would’ve sacrificed my own life too if I had a sister.
And so it went on to her coronation just how many months ago. Her powers, which were hidden from everyone, got out and everyone thought she was a monster. She fled from Arendelle and went here and built this Ice Palace. Freedom was the thing that made her able to make such a masterpiece. I can see how happy she was telling this part of the story.
