5 years later

"Kira get up we have to be there early" my mom shouted up the stairs.

"Do I have to?" I asked into my pillow.

"Yes now get up, it's been 5 years since you have seen your brother" my mom said pulling the blankets off.

"5 years is not long enough" I said with a groan trying to grab the blanket again.

"Get up now or else I will dump freezing cold water on you" my mom said menacingly.

"UGH, fine" I said rolling off the side of the bed and landing on the floor with a thud.

After getting changed into denim shorts, a black tank top with the guns and roses logo on it and black pumps, I brushed my teeth and hair. I then walked downstairs, the smell of pancakes wafted around the house.

"Come get pancakes now, before your father eats them all!" My mom shouted.
